The ol' homestead

We had a great trip to Arkansas to Sunshine and dads house. All the food and goodies have about caught up with us though and now it is back to healthier eating and some sense of sanity. We enjoyed lots of visiting and even snuck in an adventure at 4:30 a.m. to Black Friday sales at Wal-mart ( I have come to the conclusion that the meaning of Black Friday is a misnomer as I believe it is because you are at risk of a black eye at every corner!) I did get what I went after, one of them being this great bed set (the lighter color in the center was light shining through the window)

I have some cute photo's of the kids as Pianomanjess and Grand-doll Mom were there with the kiddos too. Little Miss and Grand-doll had adorable matching dresses:

And The Little had his suit on as well...

And about 2 seconds later he started protesting this fact!

We got a lovely blanket of snow on the ground on the day we were coming home and it continued about half the drive home too.

Police Son flew out to San Diego to celebrate his recent passing of EVOC and his final approaching cleet test. Well, okayyy, he is not in SD celebrating that fact, he is really just partying it up with California Krista in the dessert somewhere, eating deep fried turkey and dreaming of the day they can be together in the same state for longer than a week.

Ahhh, the harsh realities of distant love...

Last night we all had fun setting off Little Miss rocket. It was one we constructed from paper and a film canister for her overdue science experiment. It went off just fine and we had fun re-setting it off several times til we had the amounts just right for a good lift off. I went to take Little Misses picture with her rocket this morning but it was missing and we can assume the Big Marshmallow must have absconded with it. That darn Marshmallow... at present she is "guarding" a dead deer carcass (don't ya just love some of those deer hunters) Ughhh.

On a happier note, well happier for Little Miss, Frontier Man is still working away at her tree house. She has great plans for it, all said with two words "Girls Only".

Hey Frontier Man, watch yer head there, I would hate for you to get your head bonked ... and you fall to the ground...   and might need some mouth to mouth resuscitation... and...

Now where was I at? Oh yeah, Christmas is bearing down on us and as time would have it I am taking steps to get my craft projects all lined up. Here is one of the stockings I am working on ( in the cut-out phase) in a winter horse theme.

Lastly, but not leastly, the lovely young Grand-doll Mom had a birthday this week and so I want to wish her a happy birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE!!!
