Tuesday in Tennessee
|
The most important things I will ever do will be done with-in the walls of my own house. I borrowed that quote from Marmee Dear. It's good, don't you think? She is a truly inspirational woman and one that can learn oodles from.
Tennessee is beautiful in the fall and today was no exception. Woke to about 57 degrees outside this a.m. Sunny and pretty blue skys. It's still getting up in the 80's and I'm ready for it to cool down a bit.
I have a question about soapmaking. Ihave had 5 gallons of goats milk in my freezer for a while now with very good intentions of making soap but I am so intimidated. Do I actually make the soap on the stove top or does the lye cause it to heat up.Do I use heat? I have read alot of recipes but still a little bit scared. Well I better warm up hubby's dinner.

I am taking a soap making class tomorrow night so if you haven't had your questions answered by then I'll come back and tell you what I learned. I have wanted to make soap for sooooo long - have read all the instructions but I'm just a big ole chicken! I'm a visual learner and really need someone to show me how. But to answer your question (from someone who really doesn't know just yet), I believe the lye makes it heat up once it's mixed with a liquid.
