Friday at my house

We woke up to more snow today. More than we got yesterday! It was so pretty. Abigail & I went out early and fed the horses some hay because the groung was covered with snow. I didn't want them getting hungry. They were running around like crazy and kinda jumpin around, I guess they liked the snow too or maybe just trying to stay warm. The chickens had already started laying early too. After we fed we took a walk in our back field. Everytime it snows I walk back there. It is so peaceful you can't see any houses not even ours. When we were back there a big dog spotted us and started barking a coming twords us so I called Chad and told him to head outside in case we needed him. We Didn't -thank goodness. When we first went out we heard something like a goat hollering. I think our neighbors goat may have been  kidding. I know they were suppose to in Feb.After seeing the picture of the cinnamon rolls on Crystal Miller's blog I I made some of my own and then made pizza rolls for lunch. Brittany actually helped me put the pizza rolls together. They were good. I always feel like cooking when the weather is cold. More than I normally do and I always like to cook.

Taken from Little House in the Big Woods

When Laura and Mary had said their prayers and were tucked snugly under the trundle bed's covers, Pa was sitting in the firelight with the fiddle. Ma had blown out the lamp because she did not need it's light. On the other side of the hearth she was swaying gently in her rocking chair and her knitting needles flashed in and out above the sock she was knitting. The long winter evenings of firelight and music had come again.

Loved to read your blog, seems we have a few things in common. The love of walking in areas where no houses can be seen and Little House on the prairie. I vowed to myself six years ago when we moved into our home that I was going to raise my children (10, 8 and 4 at that time) with a 'back to the basics' heart. I wanted to teach them to garden, raise animals, and learn to love the land. So far we aren't doing to bad. We haven't accomplished a garden just yet but this is my year for making dreams come true (I pray). I look forward to reading your blogs in the furture.
Blessings,
