Our Baby is Here!

Eli Daniel was born on June 8th, (his due date) at 2:24 A.M.  He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and was 20 1/2".  It was such a beautiful thing!  We had a homebirth for Eli and what a difference - Lord willing I'll be able to have any future children at home.

The midwives got here about midnight...checked me I was at 9 cm.  So I labored a little bit more.  We called our dear friend Mary over, so she'd be here in case/when Eliana woke up. 

After waiting for my water to break for I'd say about a half an hour I asked them to break it...by now I should have learned that each pregnancy, labor, & delivery is different. With Eliana they broke my water and I had her like 30 minutes later...it was so easy...I pushed maybe 4 times. 

Eli was quite a different story...I won't go into the details...just it was much much harder and more painful.  Of course this is already a distant memory as I get to hold my precious little boy.  He is the perfect baby!  Hardly cries when he's awake...he just kinda looks around.  He's doing great with nursing...nights & days are off...but we'll work on that.

Eliana loves her little brother already...she is always "helping" me with him and gives him tons of hugs and kisses.

We are truly blessed!  I thank the Lord every day for giving us these precious children...we are so unworthy, undeserving...yet He is so giving and gracious!

So the next couple of weeks my dear husband has taken time off of work to spend with all of us.  I will be 'away' for a while as our family knits together one more little bundle.  Just wanted to stop in quick to make the happy announcement.

Oh both of your children are beautiful! Congratulations. I am so glad you had a easy delivery. Get plenty of rest and dont do to much.
