Strawberry Rhubarb Jam - Recipe to Tweak

Well my husband is starting to love more of my homemade goodies! He has always been a die hard Welch's Grape Jelly eater, (he loves peanut butter and jelly
In a large kettle, combine the strawberries, rhubarb, lemon juice, & pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar;return to a full rolling boil. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat; skim off foam. Can as ususal.
I must say, it is not the consistency I like...too runny. Here's what I did that I think contributed to the runniness...
