Our Trip to the Coast

We've been so busy lately, my dear husband decided that we needed a little vacation.  We drove to Rockport-Fulton this past weekend.  The kids had a blast...maybe too much so.  Eliana is still talking about how she doesn't want to be at home and wants to go back to the hotel.  We stayed at Hunt's Castle, which wasn't really much of a castle.  Nonetheless it worked out for us.

Gus

We also brought our german/sheppard lab mix, Gus along.  It all sounded like a great plan until we got there and realized that we were severely limited on what we could do.  We were unable to go into a park with him, only certain restaurants would allow him, (specifically if they had an outdoor patio - which I completely understand).  We also were unable to do shopping or visit museums like I would have liked.  We considered kenneling him for a day, but alas, no shot records.

All that aside, we had a great time and the trip was exactly what we needed.

The kids loved the beach.

I don't know where she got this pose from...she's so darn cute though!

Then came a great big gust of wind and rain shortly after this photo was taken.

Notice the dark sky...we should have known what was coming!

The kids were UPSET!  It was all surprisingly unexpected.  Our cabana actually tipped and collapsed on one side.  The rain was getting us no matter where we were under it.  A sweet angel walking by & stopped to help us hold down an end while I gathered the kids together.  Eliana was histerical and Eli...I don't know what he was  doing...he just started walking off in the wind and rain down the beach...if the whole moment hadn't been so frantic it would have been funny.  I really DO wonder what he was thinking.

I must say, I'm horrible at taking pictures.  We miss so many moments, we went "fishing" later that day and we flew our kites...the kids played at a playground and we ate at a nice restaurant on the beach...well near the beach.

Now we're back to work...this week I need to submit paperwork for a sign permit and order doorhangers.  We also have a few new people coming to train...should be fun!
