Turn your worries into prayers... Hello friends... Welcome to Thursday, my favorite day of the week. I am terribly sleepy this morning, a rough last night... partly from staying up too late crafting, and partly from a little ones nightmares that kept him from sleeping for a LONG time. I am going to put on a pot of coffee and get out my crochet again and put my feet up and sew. Today we will school in the living room so I can sew and rest. Feeling a little blue this morning, missing Shannon and being a bit more concerned about the lack of a job than I should be. I *know* God has this totally in control! I *know* it... so why do I still fret? Like a dear, dear friend of mine told me a LONG time ago... I need to turn my worries into prayers... and that is what I am going to try to do. Blessings to you all!
08:40 - Thursday, September 4, 2008 - comments {11} - post commentTopsy Turvy Life... pretty much right now... it is still a bit topsy-turvy. We are still uncertain of what is going to happen when Shannon finishes up this job. It has been extended until Thursday, so that is a blessing for sure. My kitchen table has been turned into a stage for my pumpkins. My room is completely upside down with fabric, ribbons, glue guns and all manner of craftiness. So as I finish things they are going to my kitchen table. I have 13 dishcloths made and I hope to at least take 50. I have 30 pumpkins and I hope to at least take 100. I have 2 quilted table squares and I hope to take 5-10. I have several shirts, onesies, hair-bows and odd and ends ready. It is coming along nicely. If I can just keep it up. I have not went to bed until after 1:00 am for the past 3 nights because of a late night cup of caffeine and a good girly movie. They have been very productive nights, but I am sure the lack of sleep will be catching up on me soonly. I thank you so much for your continued prayers and we look forward to watching God work in this situation. May God bless each and every one of you. My Cup Runneth Over...
08:16 - Wednesday, September 3, 2008 - comments {8} - post commentWonderfully Productive This weekend was wonderful... wonderfully productive... and I L.O.V.E. being productive! :) We cleaned out the root cellar, we hope to add shelves in the next week or two. We spent some time in the garden. I spent some time in the kitchen, and we all just spent some time together... The weather was not as dreadfully hot as it has been and it was nice. We enjoyed a bit of rain today and hope to get more in the next day or so. Saturday, I made up some homemade vanilla, some Lacto-Fermented Salsa, I chopped up peppers and have them in the freezer and Saturdays lunch was a wonderful soup and some crusty bread. I plan on sharing the directions for the above throughout the week. I have spent a little time in the sewing room also and the bug has bitten me. I am anxious to get some projects going and accomplished... Christmas is NOT too far away you know!!! Especially for those of us who like to give handmade gifts!!!! So it is a good thing I am in the mood to start crafting. I hope your Monday is fantastic! My Cup Runneth Over...
11:18 - Sunday, August 24, 2008 - comments {2} - post commentTime draws nigh... Are you as eager as I am? Eager for Mums, Pumpkins, leaves falling, a chill in the air? Colors of red, orange, yellow and gold? As these scorching days of summer pass, it does make me all the more eager for fall. I have been so unwell around here, just the necessities have been done. I have not been crafty or productive in the kitchen. Hopefully that is about to change and I will be able to bring you exciting things from my blog again soon. Until then my friends, I hope you have a great day on your homestead!!! My Cup Runneth Over...Chas
06:30 - Tuesday, August 12, 2008 - comments {11} - post commentBeginning again...Good Morning!Today will begin our first official day of Homeschool 2008/2009. Here in GA we have to have an attendance sheet. So today is when we officially start keeping track for this year. I am anxious to get started. We had quite a busy weekend, full of fun things to do and work around the home. Friday night we went swimming at the city pool, there was a private party there and it was SO much fun! Noah a little boy from our church is in remission of cancer. It was exciting and I think everyone had a blast celebrating this special time with him and his family! Carlie Jean Abram Elijah Cameo and Taylor being silly... Saturday we went into town to get a belt for the lawnmower and ended up running everywhere to find one. While we were there we got the kids their birthday present. My Mom and Sister suggested an aquarium and it was a great idea. We got the kit and set it up. Tomorrow afternoon we will be getting fish for it, but for now, it is so beautiful we just enjoy looking at it even without fish! :) Yesterday we had a special day at church. We ordained a new deacon, and he is just one of our favorite guys. He is our Sunday School teacher, Bill! Here is a picture of him, his wife Karen (who I worked with for a while when I was a substitute teacher), and his two daughters Emily and Erin Tonight we get to go to another birthday party at the pool. It is our nieces Taylor and Kailey. Friday is going to be Carlie Jean's, Abram's and Shannon's birthday party here. So LOT'S going on! Have a great day!My Cup Runneth Over...Chas

10:25 - Monday, July 14, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentBlackberries and Dewberries Good Morning!!! Remember when I told you that I found a blackberry patch on the farm? Well.... I was wrong, it isn't a blackberry patch at all. It is actually a Dewberry Patch. Dewberries are a close cousin to the blackberry. Dewberries grow very close to the ground and are slightly smaller than a blackberry. Whereas blackberries grow in big tall trellising vines, growing upright, and sometimes growing up and over fences. Dewberries taste very much the same as a blackberry, sometimes maybe a bit more tart. But oh so yummy. So there is a bit of knowledge this morning. Today we are going to harvest some more dewberries and do some much needed baking. It is time for zucchini bread! Woo hoo! Well, I hope you have a great day and may God bless you and keep you!
