• Monday, December 4, 2006 - Goodbye Entry
Posted By Sarah E. Smith
| It is with deep regret that I will inform everyone I have left off
blogging for now. We are planning to move to Oklahoma at the end
of March, so I hope to renew blogging sometime next summer. But
for now, I have too much on my plate. Please, all of you, still
keep in touch through my e-mail and through messages. And don't
forget to periodically check my Photobucket account, because I
regularly post pictures there.

Well, CJ has gained 3 pounds in his first month, is sleeping 6-7 hour
stretches each night, and generally making me feel like the most
blessed mother ever. He's also started to throw temper tantrums,
having developed, within the last week, a distinct and furious shriek
to let us know he is upset.
Right when I didn't know how in the world back's were supposed to be
compatible with nursing, Chris hauled the most beautiful thing ever
through our door: a rocking chair! Something about being
able to move while I'm nursing has practically eliminated the back
pain. Thanks be to God. Of course, I sat down in it just
this morning, leaned back and.... crack, broke out one of the back
slats. But I haven't told Chris yet so SHHHHH. Besides
that...... Mary Lou is dead, Poppit (a dog) looks ready to burst with
some babies of her own, and we're leaving next week for our first trip
to OK as land owners! I am so excited, but then I guess I say
that a lot now. I'm still thrilled with life. God
has been so good to me. Sure I get frustrated with CJ sometimes,
when he's screaming in anger and he's full and his diaper's clean and
his bubbles are all up. But then there's so many more moments
when he's waking up, and strecthing in an impossible backwards curve,
with his little hands grabbign his cheeks and his mouth making
hilarious contortions, and then he opens his eyes and smiles. And
then the times when he sits there with this little smirk on his face,
like he knows something no one else does and it's just hilarious.
Oh yes, I love being a Mother. Except in the middle of the
night. And then I still love it, I'm just more irritable.
Someone once said that if you asked the Lord for patience, he'd give
you children. Well, loving a wonderful handsome man who spoils me
rotten is very different then loving a tiny, helpless bundle with a
will all his own. I don't have to be vary patient to love Chris
or take care of him. I do with CJ. Speaking of whom, he's
been alone for long enough now, and I must run back home.
BTW< my writer's block is gone, until I sit down at the
computer. So I am going to start writing stuff down on a note
card so I'll remember to post about it. Happy, Abigail?

• Monday, August 21, 2006 - A New Nephew, A New Home...
Posted By Sarah E. Smith
Ta-da! I'm back from the mysterious world of no computers!
I have a new Nephew, known as Hunter Colin George. Born Monday,
August 14, he weighed in at 10 lbs. 7 oz. and is the same length as
CJ. And if you knew how small my sister is, you'd be
wincing. (If you aren't already.) But he is SOO
adorable. But yea, that means there still isn't a girl in this
new generation. CJ has 4 cousins and they are all boys.
We closed on the OK property! I am so excited! We're still
planning to move in teh spring, but we're planning a few trips in the
meantime: One to build some pens in OK and one to visit my family back
East before we move. Because I don't think we'll be making many
trips once we move to Oklahoma.
Well, I had this incerdibly long post planned, but I'm still fighting
off a case of writers block. I hope to be able to sit down, and
concentrate, on a post for tomorrow. Until then, this will have
to do.

I'm still not sure how to post pictures on here with the equipment I've got, but you can view some pictures of CJ on my Xanga.
And those of you who do not have Xanga's can, of course, leave comments
here. I hope to be back to blogging before long, I have enjoyed
all the comment and will be paying attention again... eventually. But until then, hope you enjoy a few pictures.

• Tuesday, August 1, 2006 - NEW BABY
Posted By Sarah E. Smith
This is Sarahs husband. She asked me to sign on and tell EVERYONE
that at 9:15 this morning we were graced by the arrival of Christopher
James Smith. At 7 pounds and 2 ounces and 21 1\2 inches long, he
is just the right size.
Thanks to all for your prayers and support.
Sincerely,
Chris, Sarah, and C.J.

• Monday, July 24, 2006 - Please please pray!
Posted By Sarah E. Smith
| Our milk cow, Mary Lou, seems to be dying. She was in labor for a while
with a sideways baby that we finally managed to pull, but it appears to
have done some damage to the nervous system in her hind legs. She can't
stand up, and as of the last several hours, she has given up on life.
Cows just do this sometimes, and it is a very definite refusal to make
any effort at all. We already lost one cow this year, and it was really
hard. Lou is pretty special, and she's really a great big pet, and
everyone loves her, and.... I just can't imagine life without her.
Please pray that she gets her will to live back, and that she makes it.
I'm so worried, she is Chris's "girl" and is so special. Thankfully,
the calf is doing well after her rough start. I'll post more
later, but for now we are pretty busy. |

• Wednesday, July 19, 2006 - Nothing to say
Posted By Sarah E. Smith
| Mostly, I'm posting for the pure joy of informing everyone that
absolutely nothing worth telling is going on, and that it's been
hot. Looks like our dear cow is getting ever closer to having her
baby, every day we think she can't possibly go any longer, and every
day she does...... WHo knows, maybe we'll have our babies on the
same day! Anyway, I have to clean the kitchen floor today, and,
well, have nothing else to say! I'll be sure and let ya'll know
as soon as I do, though. Chris has already promised to update as
soon as the baby comes.
