Burns Best Farm

Let me just say.....

....that if I were in the chicken hatching business, I would never get anything else done.  Nothing. No laundry, no dish washing, no vacuuming.

Because we got our first ever chicks in the mail today and I cannot take my eyes off them!  My children all feel neglected and even meals are a second thought.  I love these chickens!

We've had a little mortality today and I'm still sad about it.  But I think we have the warmth stablized and they all seem to be settling down now.  A couple of them are even sleeping.....so cute.

OK, back to work.  Cleaning kitchen, putting away clothes, eyeballing birds.....

(Sorry, no pictures to show. I know that isn't very nice, and I did take some great ones. But we're still playing around with how we plan to post them, so check back later in the week for fuzzy detail!)

Oh I so totally relate! Last year when we had our chicklets, we just sat and watched them all the time. It was our family activity. In fact, my crew called it Chick TV! :) Enjoy them. I miss mine terribly.

me too!

I hatched out a test batch three weeks ago and we all just stood around them staring. They are sooo cute. : )

I can totally relate as well! I've been gathering eggs and am torn between breakfast and peepers...to incubate or not to incubate...

Have fun with your chickies!
