our "homestead" anniversary!

Digging out from a big snow!!!

5 Years ago today we closed on our little piece of heaven!  God truly
blessed us with our 1911 home, 3 acres and pole barn!  Tonight I fixed
a special celebration supper of BBQ ribs, cheesy potatoes and garlic carrots.
We finished it off with ice cream topped brownies.  During supper we took
turns going around the table remembering all the things we have done to/with
our "homestead" in the last five years..... we were able to go around the table
SEVERAL times!  It is amazing how much we have done (through God's provision and
strength for elbow grease... and some God given creativity and talent):
We have painted the entire inside of the house, built a stair railing (no rail when we purchased it),
added some kitchen cabinets, new flooring in the kitchen, carpet on stairs and
in the bedrooms, tile in the bathroom (wallsand floors), done some room
remodels (gutted to the studs), built a chicken coop,  got chickens, butchered roosters,
built a tree fort, painted the garage, re-roofed the house, changed some windows,
added on to the front porch, planted 100+ trees, put in flower beds, created a raised
garden, planted a strawberry patch,  and the list goes on.........
Man I am feeling tired just remembering it all!!!  But mostly I feel incredibly BLESSED!!!
We are living out our dream..... this place is everything we prayed for..... we made a
list and literally  EVERYTHING was provided for!!!!!!!  God is so GOOD!!!

Our Goal for the next five years??????  Have it paid off by the time my hubby turns 40...
(that means we have 4 years and 2 months!)  With God ALL things are POSSIBLE!!!!!

Here are some pics of the inside:

The wonderful warmth of the ever burning wood stove..... drying outdoor
coats and snow pants...... and usually always drying our clothes..... I am able
to dry most of our clothes on the drying racks!!!!!

Have a BLESSED day!
Be a BLESSING!!!
Heather
