In my quietness.....

I have been quiet here for quite a while.  I enjoy reading other blogs and there are a few I check on every day.  However, I have really been doing some personal reflection on my own life and have been participating in some Bible studies that have really been challenging me to think and grow.  Why do I Blog?  What are my motives?  Am I just trying to get "attention" or be "noticed"?  In my previous life (before 4 children) I was employed in a position where I received daily positive feedback.  Am I trying to fill this void?  Our pastor has been preaching a long series on the beatitudes and on the state of "happiness" in America.  We all too often try to fill up and become happy by going to the wrong sources.  Is this blog one way I try to become "happy"?  Really, happiness is totally fleeting.  Only Peace and Joy that comes from our Christ is lasting.  The point our pastor has been trying to challenge us on is to pinpoint the ways that we try to find "happiness".  Identify the ways we try to fill our lives and then turn to the only true prince of peace, joy of the world and life giver.  Anyway, just thought I would share some of the reason for my silence.  My attitude has been a real source of growth for me the last month.  Hmmmmm, I wonder where God is taking me.  Growing is NOT always fun, it is just plain difficult sometimes, but in the end I know it will produce a harvest!

Have a great day!
Heather

time to quit?

I also have been thinking along these same lines. I think blogging and reading others blogs is stealing my peace. I am still pondering wether or not to give it up.... there are some fun, informational blogs that I will continue to read, but I may give up my blog and stop reading most.... we'll see what God directs me to do.
