Love Journal

Patti presented a wonderful idea that I just HAD to share!  I have often hide notes for my kids on 3*5 cards.  They love to find them and I enjoy writing them.  I try to use the cards to build them up and deposit some positives into their life!  Anyway, patti shared an idea about a journal that is passed back and forth from mother and child.  As the mother (I am doing this with all my kids and my hubby) I have a journal for each kid and I start off the journal with a note explaining what the book is for and how it will work.  I will leave them a note and then leave the book under their pillow.  They will read the note and answer back sometime... doesn't have to be the next day....  The notes might be to tell them I love them, notice a character trait, appologize for a bad attitude, could be just silly or really anything.  Years down the road we will be able to look back and read our entries to one another..... I think it will be WONDERFUL!!!  Thank you, Patti for sharing this idea!  Parenting is hard... I often wonder if all my kids think I do is correct them.  Hopefully this will be yet another way to deposit into their love bank!

Have a great day!
Heather

Yes! My older daughters and I do this, too. It is SUCH a blessing to all of us!

I encourage everyone to do this!

Love,
Carrie

Journal

I have a friend who does this and even allows the kids to say there was something they did not like about a choice she made etc. It has helped her to see things from their eyes and also has changed some of her choices in the future as she had not thought of it from that perspective.

She writes positives and also acknowledges character qualities that are good in them.
