Garden, baby banty chicks, 4H and all star softball!
Life here in Rural central Indiana is far from boring this week! Last week I had 10 Quail eggs hatch.... and then they all died. I was so disappointed, but I know they are very hard to raise. This week I have had 3 out of 16 banty chicks hatch.... and they are all three doing GREAT!! YEAH!! I am really looking forward to seeing what they will look like. I have no idea... they were given to me by a friend (her dad raises them) and I have never seen the chicks "parents". This is my first try with an incubator.....
The garden is in full swing. I picked about a half bushel of cucumbers and zuchinni and about a gallon of green beans this morning.... YUMMY My tomato plants are loaded and I am eagerly awaiting them to turn red. I have had 3 from the garden and they were awesome!
4H projects are due today and tomorrow. Everything is done except for a batch of cookies that we will make this afternoon before we take them in this evening. It has been a fun Year for 4H projects. Wes took Photography, Collections, Models and Woodworking. Robyn took (she is in mini 4H) foods, crafts, sewing and collections. They both did a wonderful job! I am looking forward to fair week (it starts on Saturday). I would really like my kids to take animals, but I have NO experience with 4H animals..... I need to learn!
Robyn made softball All Stars. She had practice last night, will tonight and then games start on Wednesday. She is a natural athlete and loves playing. She is fun to watch, but man is she hard on herself is she makes a mistake. I know that is a good quality, she has drive to do her best and expects herself to do well, but it is sometimes hard as a mom to see her so mad at herself. However, she does use her frustration to play better... she directs it in the right place.
I have also been busy cleaning out the upstairs (kid's rooms). I have 1/2 of a room to go and I have hauled out 4 BIG (30 gallon size) bags of trash and 4 bags for give away. It is amazing how fast stuff accumulates! Now the kids are up enjoying their clutter free and clean rooms. I have to do this big over haul at least once a year.... I should do it twice a year. I need to help the kids stay on top of things better so that it never gets sooooo bad!
We have also had a little bout of some kind of upset tummy.... My hubby stayed home today (NOT like him at all) and our youngest is not feeling so great. They are actually both asleep on our bed..... healing up!
Well, I am off to get the rest of my morning chores done....
Have a Blessed day!
Be a BLESSING!!!

Sounds like you are having a very productive day! I need to declutter 9yo dd's room and closet while she is at camp this week. She keeps everything, even paper scraps. She will enjoy coming home to a decluttered room.
