Joe's first day at work and life so far- here in KS

I have had many emails, from you all, checking on Joe and his first day at work! Thank you for that!!! Joe is doing well. I saw him off to work with a good breakfast and his favorite coffee. We were both amazed to see how hard it was raining- Joe said, "We don't get this much rain in the Winter." He wasn't speaking literally- just making a point that rain in the Summer is truly something new for us to experience. Joe called me at lunch and had such a happy voice! I love to hear my husband not be under so much stress. He did get lost driving to work today. When he called his boss to ask for directions he just laughed and then directed him properly! Joe mentioned that many of the men are Christians and have farms therefore, Joe is enjoying all the conversations!

The children and I continue to unpack. The library is all set up with our books, tapes as well as Beth's violin. We are going to use this room for our music and reading needs. All of us agree that it is our most favorite room of the house! The dinning room is almost done. Joe is going to take the table apart and clean it properly before we bring it into the house. I have all my roosters set up as well as my tea cups. The room is a large room with huge windows and a window seat. I love the colors of the home! The dinning room is a rusty red and matches my decor perfectly! These fun details aren't life changing, I know, and yet I am confident the Father loves to bless us even on the smallest of details!

Bethany took photos of the birds today. We will have to look them up and see what type they are. Ezekiel sat on the window seat beneath the stairs watching the squirrels walk on the power lines. Bekah and Shadow are enjoying time together while they both work around the home. Joe sure had fun with Shadow yesterday. Bekah mentioned last night before bed, that it was fun to see daddy being playful with Shadow. Sarah informed me today that she has NINE new friends! Whew! We've only been here three days and that girl is attracting all the neighbor girls like glue. Her personality is sweet and her smile is contagious! Last night Sarah, and the other little girls, sat on our front port playing with her Vision Forum dolls. I love my little girls enjoying girl things. Friends, tea and dolls... what could be more girl than that?!

I will post photos of the home soon. Many of you have asked for photos of the home. Bekah still hasn't put them into the computer for me so let me give you a little peak until we can get the photos uploaded. The home was built in 1870 it is a three story home not including the basement. The top floor is a master suite that is not yet finished, the second floor has four bedrooms and a bath (I love having all the children's rooms on one floor). The main floor has a huge entry with large windows and window seats. A formal dinning room, library, laundry room and back patio with deck are my favorites (can you tell I love it all?!)  Beth loves the kitchen- it does have a nice pantry! We are on a corner lot and while it feels nice and big for a city home we would love to have more land out in the country some day. Joe and I are praying about where God wants us- we have a feeling we might be staying here in town and doing a farm co-op with some other families. This was something we were praying about before we arrived and the details have already started falling into place. We will see how the Lord leads, perhaps this is where He wants us to remain. We never know where this journey will take us do we friends?

I had best go, the babies will be waking from their nap soon. Today has been so peaceful and productive. Thank you Lord!

With much love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood

Greetings! My name is Jeanette Wood. I am the wife to my best friend, Joe and the mother to ten blessings. We have been home educating our children since birth- our oldest is 20 and our baby is 4. We have given birth to six children physically and four were born from our hearts through adoption. We are currently living in Topeka Kansas- moving from our home state of CA on the first of July 2008. Moving is nothing new to the Wood family. We have moved 17 times in the last 17 years. We never know where this journey will take us yet we are confident that He has only good plans for us and we will follow wherever He leads! We love to live simply and are filled with Thanks everyday for the good work He has begun in our lives. Grab yourself a cup of tea and enjoy a visit with me while I allow you to peek into our hearts and home!
