I spent an hour or so in the kitchen today baking sweet potato muffins. I have several weeks worth in the freezer now. The house smells glorious and breakfast for the week is taken care of.
I have a new favorite book, The King Arthur Whole Grain Baking book. It's fantastic and right away I adapted my Sweet Potato Muffin Recipe using Whole Wheat White and Whole Wheat Pastry flour with excellent results. The muffins are moist and delicious. A big hit with Eric and the girls.
I put up 18 quart size bags of blueberries in the freezer today and plan to bake and freeze blueberry muffins this coming weekend. I am also anxious to try the Blueberry Coffee cake recipe in the cookbook.
This week will be busy getting all of our homeschooling records finished and filed for the year, along with getting our application ready for our accountability group for the next school year. I feel a little awkward about our upcoming year. I haven't had just one child to homeschool in 9 years. It feels strange, like I am not doing enough planning and ordering.
I wonder how it will feel when I don't have anymore school years to plan...

I suppose it's a crazy to name my blog Blackberries and High Heels but that's where I am at right now in my life.
I have my feet in two worlds but my heart in one! My feet take me from the homeschooling mom world to the working world. My heart is always at home.
I love the wild blackberries growing all around our house, I can't wait until they are ripe. Everyday when I get home from work I walk down the path to check on them, often before I've kicked off my heels! Last year we picked gallons of them, this year looks like we are going to have gallons more.
Here's to lots of blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream!
