Just wondering something

Yesterday I was reading "What good bloggers do" on the Front Porch. I read a portion that says advertising is not allowed on Homestead Blogger and I was surprised, as a lot of the ladies on here have home businesses and from time to time post what they are selling and new products etc. I understood where Homestead Blogger was coming from so I put it out of my mind and went on with reading other blogs. However today when I was checking the last 100 posts I saw at least 3 advertisements for people's businesses! I guess I'm just wondering how strict the rules about that are and what is acceptable and what happens if you do advertise. If anyone knows or knows where I can read more about Homestead Bloggers policies. That would be great.

Perhaps they mean advertising like non homemade products (those who post about their businesses may have already been given permission? or maybe they mean different sites on the Internet that they don't endorse?) Or maybe they mean the little banners that some bloggers have attached to the side of their blog? I don't know...just theory!
