About Me

We're a blended family of six, two children still at home, two parents who want family to be just that....a home where God is first, love abounds and along the path we learn the skills and efforts to do some things we think are important. Life is not all sunshine and roses, but it should be a world we can look at confidently knowing we are abundant in God's favor and care....we lived in the rural country for five years, employment returned us to the city recently, but we are still very determined to live a quiet life, a simpler life and enjoy the gifts God gives us and share with others.

A Joyful Place
Tuesday, September 2, 2008

There have been so many changes this summer and I am reeling I suppose from my stillness within them! Our second son left for Arkansas for college over the last week. He ended up in an apartment when housing at school wasn't available.  This meant Dh had to take off work and take him down with furniture and for us to gather what he needed. We are thankful that we had most of what he needed by shifting and rearranging.

Son2 has begun public school athletics and football is his sport this semester. We are experiencing alot of shifts in what we are expected and how to expect of him what his responsibilities are. He is exhausted from the 3+ hours a day of practice, his courseload and life in general, so we are trying to help him adjust and support him in this long held desire to play.

Daughter 2 is homeschooled again this year.  She and I have a lovely time of it actually, I love her being home and she loves learning as well as homekeeping. Its a good thing for all of us.

This morning I looked up a pancake recipe on recipe czar for homemade pancakes and I believe it was the best batch I have ever eaten much less made, God is good, I so asked for help to find it when dear daughter asked for pancakes today and I didn't have a clue!

Its a time of change, both inside and out....I have miles to go today to get the to do list done! Take care of you!

hugs

Sweetie

Oh it's so bittersweet to see our children grow up...love seeing them mature into wonderful adults but darn...why can't they stay little!

Enjoy the time with your daughter!

Hugs,
Julia
