Canning Question
If the canning recipe calls for 5 quarts of tomatoes how do I know how many pounds that would be? I'm fairly new to this canning thing & am making tomato soup to can for the first time this year.

Posted by morningsunshine I don't know, but you could get a large bowl, and measure in 20 cups, then weigh it. I know, not too helpful, huh!

That's 3lbs right off the vine.
I am in the process of canning now, so next time, I will weigh again, and get back with you!
