Cheese making is something so many people want to try, and put it off
because they are intimidated. I can relate! I armed myself with a
couple of books and a cheesemaking video last year and actually made
cheese lots of times! Let me tell you, fresh mozzarella is so tasty and
you will never guess how easy! My top two favorite sites for
instructions and info are:
http://fiascofarm.com/dairy/index.htm
and The New England Cheesemaking Company:
www.cheesemaking.com
If you use the information off the Fiasco Farm site and watch the video
and read the booklets that come with it from The New England
Cheesemaking Company, you will be very well on your way! You will
dazzle your family and friends and at the same time feel good about
giving them cheese that is fresh with no artificial colors,
preservatives, etc. You can control the ingredients, and they are
widely available on-line.
Making your own cheese is easy, inexpensive, and fun. This year I will
be making alot of Feta. It is my very favorite and I love to put it on
burgers, salad and pasta especially. I also want to share it with my
friend's
Tara and Kevin, 'cause they love it as much as I do!
I plan on teaching a cheese making course to our homeschool group, and
the video I mentioned will be part of the class. It's a video that will
make you totally confident- so get it if you can, and you won't be
sorry.
