Looking Forward To 2006~

I have been sick since before Christmas and am dragging. I am on the verge of a migraine today, but still feel like praising the Lord. My buddy Tara and her family are back from Boise and it seems like they were gone for a month! It was really just a week and a half, but...it seemed longer!

I have spent my time pouring over seed catologs and purusing my new cookbook. In the afternoons I get oout to the barn to milk and feed, but other than that I am spendig my time with a blanket in my new glider chair. I am hoping to feel much better soon, as we are starting up all of our activities again: Friday night home fellowship here, a women's Bible study, a homeschool support group and co-op, and the children and I will start up our lessons as well. I need alot of energy for all that and I have zilch right now!

I ordered a new milk pail for this year; a bigger one with a lid. I will have a couple more milkers this year and needed a larger pail. They are pretty expensive, being stainless steel. It was something I have wanted and needed for awhile. I also ordered some soft cheese molds and plastic collars for the goaties. They need collars, but a few of them get a bald spot where they rub that is unattractive, and I like them to be beautiful I have chosen a couple of does from the Sand-Bur Kids herd (did so well at the nationals this year!!) to get a buckling out of. They are in Oregon, so it will be a nice little drive to pick him up in March or so.

I feel rotten...but I know there is so much to look forward to and do and learn- and I have a great family and great friends to share it all with and am so looking forward to 2006!
Happy New Year Everybody!!

2006-Jan-3 - Milk buckets, etc.

Posted by BeAnxious4nothing
Dalyn,
I am excited for you about the milk bucket. Sounds dumb, I know, but that is a big deal! Being able to haul only one bucket is so much easier. And you are right, they are NOT cheap. But worth it.

Hey, want to teach me how to do something?? I need to learn how to make cheese. I'll trade you cheesemaking lessons for lessons on how to butcher a bird (that ought to thrill Doug!). or maybe a pig. hmm...
I will be praying for you and your family to be blessed all through the year. I hope you are feeling better.

I pray that you are doing well today and hope you did not get a migraine the other day!

I am going to add you to my friend's and am interested in the cheese making. I make my own soap and a few other things, I guess I should try cheese next!

Have a great day! ~ Robin
