It'
so hot out! I am wilted today. It got up to 108 in town and I had alot
going on today. I can't wait to feed the goats and come inside to get
my jammies on and relax.
I had to go to the DMV to
update my driver's liscense. I had never changed the address~ I
expected a looong, dreary wait with a room full of people that don't
speak english, but actually my bum didn't even hit the chair before my
number was called. Got that done in a jiffy. I need to fax alot of info
to get certified copies of my birth certificate for the adoption
process. Another thing checked off the list. Why can't I just snap my
fingers and have it all done??!!
I picked up the kids from
Church about noon; it was the last day of VBS and the older kids were
great Jr. helpers. Made me proud :)
I did quite a few
errands, and then made another tote bag, and ground a whole bunch of
soft white wheat grain. I mixed the freshly ground flour with organic
baking soda and powder. I keep this mix in the freezer to have
homemade, organic "bisquick" mix on hand. Since it's Taylor's birthday
tomorrow, and we always cook a nice breakfast, I thought I'd better
make sure we had the ingredients for pancakes. Doug forgot the bacon,
so I need to send him back to the store. (Yes- in this heat!)
Tori's new horse is getting shoes on right now, and she starts lessons again on Monday. Lots going on!
I got a nice yellow squash out of my garden! My husband said, "see
honey, you grew something!" Is it not obvious that he was surprised?!
I'm hoping for lots of tomatoes, since I eat salads daily and love lots
of fresh, warm tomatoes sprinkled with salt. Yum!
I made Havla lastnight. I was at a friend's and got to flip through her
cookbook from Serene (Above Rubies). I ordered one a while back and am
waiting patiently. Havla is my new sub for chocolate. Good stuff! It's
like taking a vitamin instead of eating some naughty little sweet. It's
made from grinding sesame seeds, (I added almonds too) coconut oil,
carob, and raw honey. It's so good- I think I'm addicted. I
noticed when I peeked through that cookbook that it was also a course
in nutrition- very readable and sound. I love it! Can't wait for mine.
Well, I need to tuck in my goaties for the night. Hope you are all
enjoying life, and enjoying cool summer nights with the windows open
all night! I love that!
