Tired of the Manure!

We have five horses, among other things. In the winter when they can't get much graze on the ten acres they have to live on, they hang out in front of the barn. Specifically right in front of the door. (where the hay comes out twice a day! : ))
The manure, mixed with urine, rain and snow for the past couple months, is so deep, that we have laid down bales and bales of straw, and still it's ankle deep walking. Yuck!

Twice this week while going back and forth for milking and feeding, I have gotten a boot stuck so deep that it stayed in the mud while my poor foot continued moving and landed right in the middle of that nasty mess! UGH! I want spring!
(and less horses)
Is anybody else out there suffering from a manure overload? Can anyone commiserate with me here? Who's ready for the sunshine, flowers, bees, and blossoms?!

Yuck! I am looking forward to Spring. Today is the 27th straight day of rain in Port Orchard. My yard is soaked...it looks like a lake in the back yard. I'm longing for those long Summer nights when we have camp fires in our fire pit out back. No snow here...and certainly no manure but plenty of HUGE mole hills everywhere you look. No use in trying to keep the lawn manicured...

2006-Jan-14 - No Rain or Winter here

We are having the oddest weather I can ever remember having here in Central Texas. No rain in forever, local lake down about 6ft. Rain fall for 2005 feel short of the norm by about 18in. No winter to speak of yet! We had one or two small cold snaps in Nov.. But it has been breaking record highs ever since. High winds and dozens of wild fires all over the state every time you turn on the TV. Our county lost 21 homes to a grass fire last week. Praying for rain! ( I will send you some sunshine if you can send me some moisture!!)

Although I understand how you feel about the "foot" in the manure, I do so envy you because you have horses !!! I had one last year and now we don't and boy do Jasmine and I miss him so !!! We'll be glad to take one or two off your hands !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jasmine {my 5 year old} would have a fit to have another horse !!!

Winter hasn't really begun here yet in S.C. It got kinda cold a few days last week or so around 55 {maybe 60}, I think.

And Grandma Rosie I'm still praying for y'all !! Praying that GOD would make it rain HARD for 3 days and nights straight !! Jasmine is praying for you too !!!
