"...adoption is the highest privilege that the gospel
offers...adoption is a family idea, conceived in terms of love, and
viewing God as father. In adoption, God takes us into his family
and fellowship--
he establishes us as his children and heirs.
Closeness, affection, and generosity are at the heart of the
relationship."
---J.I Packer in Knowing God

We are starting out on a great adventure. We are begininng the adoption
process. There are so many orpahns in Liberia due to the civil war that
just ended there. Too many. Precious little children going hungry. We
here in america want for little. I live in a city full of homeless
people. They walk around with iPods, boom boxes, and cell phones. We,
who think we never quite have enough, have too much, in my humble
opinion. No judgement here- just observation on my own personal life.
My family has plenty of room. We have room in our home, our cupboards,
and our hearts. So...here we go; taking a leap of faith and believing
God for more children to love.
We don't have the money, so the Lord will have to supply it. I'm
excited about this, and so is Doug. We are blessed to be here, now we
get to see the Lord do some amazing things!

Please pray for us. Please pray for the children. The Lord has worked
it all out- we are just walking in the path He cut for us now.
There are other families we have found that are doing or have already
done, the same thing! One family right here in the same town. Amazing!
We found a social worker who will charge less than half the others,
works in our town, and will have the whole homestudy done in two weeks
or less. The immigration office we have to deal with is also right
downtown. It's all just so breath-taking!
The Lord is so good, and we are so excited to have more children.
We have enough school books and bedrooms for more...ever since we moved
here two years ago, it seems things were building up to this.
We know none of this is going to be easy, and the hard work begins after the children come home, but...how can we say no?
"Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible
poverty."
---Mother Teresa of Calcutta
