I made
kefir cheese the other day. It's like a cream cheese, but it's
really tart. You just pour good, thick kefir into a muslin cloth and
strain it in the fridge for a day or two. I mixed honey and berries in
mine for a nice fruit dip. perfect for summer time eating. I tried a
batch of mozzarella too, but my rennet was old, and the curd didn't
set. Terrible! I hate wasting milk that way. A whole gallon I had to
feed to the chickens. Well, I guess I'll look at it that I get it back
in eggs.
The Lord answered a
HUGE prayer, and I am just awed today. I haven't told anybody yet, so I won't post it yet. It's just very exciting though.
This is a picture of my gorgeous buckling out of my favorite doe. His
name is GIDEON. Look at those ears! His pedigree is quuite nice too. I
am very happy with him, and so is Doug.
I am listening to Nancy Campbell's CDs, "Mothers With a Mission". I
have about 5 sets of her Cds and I am so inspired. I just love her. I
like to listen to those while I'm puttering about in the kitchen, or,
like today, sitting at the table sewing. Not that I am a seamstress by
any means! I sewed a totebag today. I won't be winning any prizes, but
it was fun anyway.
Tomorrow my new Longman buckling arrives, along with a buckling Doug is
transporting for another breeder. I wormed the goats with the herbal
wormer I buy from Fiasco Farms, and trimmed some of the girl's feet,
too.
The babies are all doing well, and I need to take the first batch to my
friend's place to get their horns burned! They really need to go, ASAP,
but I have one doe overdue, and another due soon. It's hard to leave
for any reason.
Tonight we had brown rice and lentil casserole, only this time I added
some venison burger to it. Good stuff! We also had ww flat bread made
with flour that was soaked in kefir all night. You know, it was just
like sourdough! Very flavorful. We liked it that way.
Tomorrow night is Biblestudy, and then Tuesday is a homeschool co-op
planning meeting at my house. Ladies I have yet to meet are coming, so
that should be fun. Fridays we have home fellowship at our house again,
and that's always a blessing. Well, it's time to send the children off
to bed, and drink some tea.
We had a satisfying day of work again today.

I made some Kefir cheese the other day too. It's just sitting in the fridge though...maybe I'll try the fruit thing.
Haven't talked to you in a while. I've been meaning to tell you that I've got Kombucha! The actual mushroom thing that you use to make it yourself. It's brewing in my pretty punch bowl right now.
Hope everything is going well with you. I'd love to hear whatever this major answer to prayer is! I've been praying for you & family related things ;).
