I'm sitting here at the computer; it's early, about 6 a.m. I'm getting
my "stuff" done before my family wakes up in a little bit. I noticed
some tall shadows on the back fence. Hhmm... could be anything around
here!
The nice thing (one of them) about this house is the 360 degree view. I
can see for miles in any direction from the top of our little hill,
because there are windows everywhere.
My husband had started rototilling my small kitchen garden, but didn't
get too far. there's a lot of tempting grass and weeds in there still.
We get terrible winds here that force open and even break the gates and
fences. Yesterday I found part of the wood fence broken in two! This
morning, I looked out to find out what those shadows were and saw three
of the horses in my garden! The back gate that adjoins the pasture and
yard blew open again. I wondered for a minute if I should try to catch
them in my slippers and P.J.'s, then decided they were doing my garden
a good turn. I'll catch them after I have coffee and devotions! (or
wait until Doug wakes up and let him)
I like to have devotions in the sunroom; another great view, but right
now I have 14 chicks in there to replenish my laying hens that the
coyotes have dined on. I had a big coyote right at the barn door three
mornings ago. Getting quite bold, those scoundrels.
Well, it's never boring around here. I love spring- you just never know
what you are going to wake up to, and what the critters are up to!
I need to be tanking up on some coffee and get my some time alone with
Jesus before another crazy day starts! Praise God for it all!
