Well, after our romantic little get-away to the cabin in the woods on
the river, my husband and I are back to the routines of life. But- we
are totally refreshed! It's like we had a second honeymoon. We had the
best time, and I still savor all the details. (especially the hottub!)
Sometimes it's good to take note of how the "systems" of your life are
moving along, or if they are even moving at all. My marriage definately
needed some new life and actual time to enjoy each other. I am weary in
alot of ways, so now I am getting ready to pack another bag and go to
the Above Rubies Retreat in Olympia the first week of May. I know it
all sounds like alot of extravagance, but I asked the Lord to refresh
me and give me some rest and adventure with a whole lot of
encouragment. He really worked that out!
I'm making it a priority to disciple my kids and be more diligent with
their homeschooling. Next year I need to keep up transcripts for the
oldest child, as we will be entering into the "highschool" years. These
are a few of the reasons I haven't been on-line much. I'm also pretty
busy with a group of ladies on Monday evenings going through the
"Believing God" Biblestudy with Beth Moore. That's ten weeks, and then
summer break. It's a geat study if any of you are needing a study.
Next week I will pick up my poultry chicks. The plan is 4 turkeys (2
bronze and two white), a goose or two, and about 20 meat birds. I also
need to replenish my egg layers, so depending on what's available
locally, I will try to get a dozen or so brown egg layers. That should
keep us busy for a bit. We also need to build another shelter in the
pasture and get the garden spots ready. I have every intention of using
the straw bales! So much easier than fighting this clay soil, the
weeds, and back ache due to hoeing. I'm also going to do a section of
boxes for some herbs. I just haven't quite figured the best spot. I
have nowhere that isn't brutalised by this rotten wind! Every time the
seasons change we get horrible winds that last for weeks. It shrivels
the plants into nothing.
I'm also trying to decide if I want to put shelves in the sunroom for
year round herbs. I think I will. Wouldn't that be great? The Lord is
so good to give us those green things, we might as well take advantage
of them.
Hope you are all having fruitful springs. I can hardly catch my breath!

Reading your list of to-do's makes me drool! I've been trying to hard around here to do many of those same things to no avail. The dog has ruined so many pretty things that have come up or just been planted...and whatever survived him has been being beaten to death by this wind!
Well, I won't bring your blog down with a whiny comment, so I'll stop there for now.
I think the herb shelf in the sunroom is a grand idea! A sunroom is such a blessing and a wonderful tool for year round gardening.
See ya this evening dear!
