A half stitched dress....

Good Morning all!

I just read an excellant article in one of my homeschool newsletters. It spoke of the overwhelmed feeling we all get from time to time of cleaning house only to have it dirty agian, cooking meals only to have them eaten, teaching lessons only to do them agian etc, etc, etc, . The author  said that her she spoke to her mother about  this and her mom who had raised 5 girls said that  after everyone was tucked in bed at night that  she would sew until bedtime. Then she would take the little half stiched dress up to her bedroom and hang it on the doorknob so that when she woke and faced another day she could say " Everthing I did yesterday was undone except  that dress . " So she would have something to see as a lasting accomplishment. We all know that what we do everday is a lasting accomplishment , what our children are learning from us is  lasting though it is  sometimes hard to keep that in mind. I thought this article was a great way to think of all the craft type things I love and never get to. It is a way to give us a little boost besides our time with God. It  is a way to feel better about taking time to do those things, sewing, knitting, cross stitching, crochet, all those wonderful things!   I know that  I am doing so much everyday  but I think I will try to work on one of my projects everyday too.  That article was a breath of fresh air for me. I hope that it will help you as well!

We are under a ice storm warning possiable power outages and 3/4 inches of ice . Yike!  I am praying for it not to turn to ice.   We had 50 degrees yesterday  so  We worked in the corner of the barn cleaning and organizing. One corner is  done, some progress!   Will have to get back out there on the next nice day and do some more.

Today:

Through kitchen cleaning.

laundry

plant herb seeds

floors

shcool work

knitting

scalloped potatoes and ham for dinner

God's blessings to you all,

Mama

I will pray the ice is not too bad for you all! It is on it's way here tonight! We are fortunate that we are in town. We rarely loose the power, however my heart goes out to the elderly that live in the rural parts.
Have a good afternoon!

Jennifer
