Hello!

I decided to blog both to share and get encouragement in our daliy lives. It's nice to know others have the same ideas and try to live  the same  (oops)kind of life!

I struggle with keeping our house clean and uncluttered and I look at some of the photos of your beautiful homes and say " How can I ever do that?" We live in a single wide trailor with lots of stuff and 7 cats,4 dogs and messy people whom I am constantly trying to retrain including myself. It is hard for me to keep up the motivation when others don't have it. We are almost ready to begin our homestudy for adoption and I am really feeling the pressure to get the place in shape before the social worker comes for the first time.  I have tried flylady and  know  not getting  into a routine is my problem. I long for order and free time without a regret of not having my home atmosphere like I want it.

We are getting sleet and snow now which changed from down pours and thunder all day yesterday. I must get out and check on the chickens and see if it's possiable to let them out or not. I also have alot of dishes to do ( got all the laundry caught up yesterday)  and I have to go into town tonight for groceries.

Lessons also await my attention. We are working a unit study on Sled Dogs. Dh and son are sick with bad colds or some such so this puts a damper on some things.

I hope to hear from some of you and also to encourage where I can.

I can do all things through God who strengthens me...

Blessing,

Mama

I like to take FLYLady's ideas and adapt them to my own needs and schedule.
Throughout the day, I try to do 5 minute clean-ups. I include the kids in this.
I throw things out everyday!
There is always a mess waiting for me somewhere, but I make myself stay focused on my goal for that moment. If I jump all around the house, I don't get much accomplished. I set goals like clean the living room today, etc.
How old are your children?
If my kids are faithful in doing their school work and chores, then I will hire them to clean up something that has been irritating me. For instance, sometimes they wash down the fridge that I hadn't had time to get to.

Have fun blogging,
Candy

Hi "Mama",
I can relate to the de-cluttering of the home struggle...it feels that once I accomplish one task, another family member has created another mess elsewhere. I'm working on re-training myself and family members...but also know that a schedule is vital for success!
On another note, I see you are in an adoption process! We just completed ours at the end of November. We've been home with our THREE kiddos that we adopted from Colombia for nearly 3 months. You can see a pic of them on my blog.
Blessings on your adoption journey!

Holly

Welcome to homestead!, Just remember that those pictures of people and of their homes are just that pictures of it clean and orderly, it can happen, try not to compare yourself.... For some of us we do need that extra edge to get moving but once you are moving it cant be stopped(only slowed down), try breaking down what you would like to accomplish with in your home? then break it even further and see what can be designated for certain days.... I had a post similiar in stress as yours is today... you can find what I ended up doing on my post here

I hope that may help you.... Dont be afraid to ask there are lots of really sweet families on here that will be more than able to help you with words of encouragment.
