Letter from Liberia
|
Today I rec'd a letter back from one of the orphans in Liberia, Africa that I am writing. It touched my heart, and I hope more people would consider writing to them. Nathan is about 14 yrs old I believe. Here is what he had to say:
Dear Michelle,
Greeting from Liberia to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. How was your day and your family I hope is fine? May the Lord be with you all to the end of this evil world. May the grace of our God keep you from every problem, and protect you and the family. I thank you for the gift you sent me and may God give you more and more than what you sent me. May the Lord Bless you and the family. You are the only one who sent me a letter from the USA of America. I say thank you may God keep us together forever. From 1996 to 2006 this is the first letter I have gotten from anyone. Our country is not in peace, so please pray for us. I dont have much to say, but just to say thank you for what you done for me.
May God keep you people safe and right with Him.
Nathan, Love I love you all

I love those Liberian kids! Our famliy got about 12 total this time! Some kids wrote us two or three letters each- so it's not so many as it sounds!
Now my children all of a sudden love to write! They enjoy giving the letters as well as getting them! every child loves to get something in the mailbox! Imagine NEVER getting a letter before- it's no big deal to write them, and I wish more people would do it too.
I will have my Liberian children write their friends when they come home. :)
Can't wait!

Doesn't it do your heart good to help others less fortunate? I am so happy you have a letter to cherish to let you know your good deeds are appreciated. Good for you!
Blessings,
Lisa

Hi,
I was just wondering, how DO you write to children in Liberia?? I mean, how do you know where to send letters, etc. and is there anything else one would need to know? Thanks.
