Seed Catalogs

Usually we buy our seeds at local stores but this year we're going to order from a catalog. I think we've narrowed it down to Pinetree Garden Seeds, they have really good prices. Has anyone used them before, is it a good company?
Zarek, our 11 year old, wants to grow gourds this year, so he can use them for decoration in the fall and to hollow some out for bird houses. So that will be his new project in the garden.
New things we plan on growing this year will be:
spinach
onions
peas
thyme
I'm probably behind everyone else on their seed orders, I plan on getting them ordered next week, depending on how much our order comes to!
Pinetree is good

You'll be happy with them ~ I am using Fedco and Pine Tree this year ~ most from fedco, but definitely some from Pine Tree...as far north in NH as I am, I need to order from"northern" growers who sell "northern" seeds.

I tried them last year and was very disappointed, I've heard that most people are very pleased with them though. This year the bulk of my seed is coming from Fedco.

HI again
It was a combo of the service and the seed quality, I ordered Lingonberry bushes from them and after several weeks of no word I emailed them. a month or more after that they emailed me saying they had lost my email to them.
The seeds I ordered failed to germinate. Lemon Balm being one of them (a seed I've had no troubles with in the past)

i ordered from them last and was pleased with the results. i've got an order in with them again this year.
gourds are fun but take up A LOT of space and require a long growing season. they will take over wherever you plant them so give them a large section (two plants took over a 20 x 20' plot.)
