My April Fool

Posted on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 11:16 in Daily Life

On April Fools Day in 1999, I worked full time at a mortgage department.  I was late (not for work), so I went to the doctor and had a pregnancy test.  Postive!!  I was going to have our 2nd child!!

My only other child, my daughter, was 13 at the time.  After work, I slid a homemade card under her bedroom door, congratulating her because she was going to be a big sister.  I added that this was NOT an April Fool!

I really had a hard time getting her and my husband to believe me.  I remember at one time a couple months later (Father's Day to be exact) , as my belly was growing, my dad said "you really are pregnant!"

I told my son (who is now 8) the story this morning and called him my April Fool :)

Country Blessings,
Jamie
