It's White Outside

{ 06:47 , Tuesday, December 2, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

It's only FROST ... no snow.  Still beautiful, though.

I did get to start on the projects yesterday while Little A was napping and then again last night.  I hope to work on them some more today during nap time.

Yesterday, I was going to call about my Nutrimill...But instead, I got an email from the company telling me it was shipped.       There was a problem with the switch, so they replaced the motor section, and the cup.  It should be here by the end of the week.

Oh...I got a phone call on Sunday telling to be on the lookout for a BLESSING.  That should be here by the end of the week, also.

WOW!  God is so good!

I've had some requests, so, I will be posting a recipe / recipes this week.

Little A will be here soon, so I'd best get going.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything give thanks.

Hoping...

to get back into routine.  The long Holiday ~week~ has thrown me for a loop.

Now we can get back to schooling, etc.     This evening, I have a few projects to get started on ... so does N ... you know ... Holiday stuff.

Last night, after dinner at my dad's, we stopped by to see Harrison.  He looks much better than he did Friday.  Kim was exhausted.  No sleep for 2 nights.  I'll check on them later this morning.

Little A will be here soon.

Gonna go make sure N is awake.

And ... Thank you, again, for your prayers for Harrison.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything give thanks.

Thank You, Friends

for all your prayers on behalf of Harrison, Kim's son.

He is coming home today    with orders to rest, continue respiratory therapy, lots of fluids, etc...

This hit him so fast.  Thursday, he was outside running around with the other children.  He asked me for the inhaler ( we are all loaded with athsma).  Friday morning, I spoke with Kim and she told me he was using the nebulizer.  After 4 treatments in 12 hours and needing more ... that's when it was time to go to the ER.

We thank God for the wonderful medical team at the Children's Hospital .. And for God and His healing touch.

Thank you again for your prayers.

Harrison is in ICU at the Children's Hospital with pneumonia.

His oxygen level was at 83% when they got him to the ER at the local hospital.  After a few hours of no improvement with treatment, the ER Doc thought it best to transfer him to the Children's Hospital.

Please keep him in your prayers.

Thank you.

Black Friday

Great sales?  Yes.

Great deals?  Yes.

BUT...  Is all the hipe and insane craziness necessary?!

I just read a very sad story on the MSN News page.  A WalMart worker was TRAMPLED TO DEATH and A PREGNANT WOMAN LOST HER BABY because of a crowd of people that busted the doors off their hinges so they could be the first ones to get what they wanted.

A wonderful Thanksgiving,

{ 07:40 , Friday, November 28, 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }

sharing food and fellowship with family and friends.

Later on, after supper, the others from our HomeChurch group joined us for dessert ...

AND the presentation of a suprise for one of the family's.

This family was in need of a vehicle.     Oh, the tears of joy and thanksgiving from mom and dad      and squeeles of happiness from the kiddies!!!

It is just so wonderful, and we are SO THANKFUL, to be a part of blessing others, in any capacity ... prayers, financial, food, clothes, furniture, etc... etc... etc.....

It is always so nice to receive a blessing.  It's even better to bless someone else by sharing the blessings that God has so graciously and abundantly given us.

Bless others as God has blessed you.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

More Baking...

{ 06:45 , Tuesday, November 25, 2008 } { 2 comments } { Link }

is on the agenda for today ... along with some errands to run.  I will do errands first.  By the time we get back home it will be lunchtime, then I'll put Little A down for a nap.  THEN, I can concentrate on the baking.

So far I've done Gingerbread, Applesauce Cake, Chocolate Chip Cake & Spiced Wafer Cookies.  I made a batch of Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Foccasia Bread ... BUT, N couldn't help herself ... she loves it!!!  So, I need to make another batch and more Spiced Wafer Cookies.  Also a big batch of Lemon Squares.  Tomorrow evening, after the Littles go home, I will do the Pumpkin Pies.

Yes, it's alot of stuff, but we are having 23 for the meal and possibly more, later, for dessert and coffee.

**********

I can see pink on the horizon ... so beautiful!  Sunny and 52* is the forcast ... a gorgeous Autumn day.

Little A will be here shortly, so I've gotta run.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything, give Him thanks.

BAKING!!!

I'm trying to get most of the Thanksgiving desserts done ahead of time.  All but the Pumpkin.   Both the Littles will be here Wednesday, so my day will be full.

Yesterday I made Gingerbread and Applesauce Cake.  As soon as I finish this post, I'll get started on the Spiced Wafer Cookies.  Also, a Chocolate Chip Cake.  I also need to make some bread and rolls for us.

Our Thanksgiving head count is up to 23.  My nephew and soon-to-be Niece-In-Law are also joining us.

Little A will be here soon, so I'd better skedaddle.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything, give Him thanks.

Another busy day

{ 08:08 , Saturday, November 22, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

I have a cleaning job today.

Then I will meet Kim and we will clean the house that our friends are moving into.

At some point, I need to return a few things to the Library.

**********

I need to finish up my grocery list so I can get to the store tomorrow after our HouseChurch meeting.

We found out yesterday that some more friends of ours are joining us for Thanksgiving.  We are so excited!!!       Looks like it will be 21 people around the table(s).          Kim is stressing.  Me?  I just told her, "So what if it isn't a Martha Stewart style Thanksgiving."  Not that THAT is what Kim is wanting...me either.  We are not *FORMAL* entertainers with a classy set of china dinnerware and crystal drinking glasses.  We are the *family style buffet* kind of entertainers.

Well, I need to get moving.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything, give Him thanks.

I'm paying ...

for my stupidity.     I won't go into detail, but my rear part, back and hip are the offended ...  my car the offender.

I am just so thankful that the outcome of the situation is not any worse than it could have been.

Anyway, today is a new day.  A cold and windy day.  Little R will be here shortly.  It is difficult to get anything done while he is here. I'm hoping he takes a good nap so I can bake some snacks.  We will be doing school.  I also want to post a recipe I found, that I want to try.

Gotta run.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything, give Him thanks.  (even for the bumps and bruises)

The Blessing

of another day.  It's a cold & frosty one for now, but supposed to go to 60* WOW! ... Heat Wave!!!        I thought I lived in the warm and sunny south.

Thanksgiving is 1 week away.  N drools at just the thought of pumpkin pie and eggnog.       If she had her way, she wouldn't bother with *the meal* ... she would have THAT as her meal ... appetizers, main course, and dessert.   LOL          Anyway, we will be spending the holiday with The Little Sister and her family, Daddy and step-mom, and a family that is just moving to the area.

Thanksgiving ... I hope that is not the only day of the year we ponder about what we are thankful for.     I love the song *Thank You* by The Katina's ... It truely says how I feel.  Everyday!

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything, give Him thanks.

It's 33* and only going to 43* today.  We are expecting the first hard freeze tonight.

I need to get back-on-track today: laundry, baking, lesson planning, menu planning, and the list goes on.    The weekend really threw me for a loop, yesterday was a bit crazy and tomorrow, both the Littles will be here.  So, today, I really need to focus!

Little A will be here shortly, so I'm gonna run.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

I am so glad

{ 06:40 , Monday, November 17, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

that Monday is here.   It was a very busy weekend.

We hosted our HouseChurch meeting, last night.  I had 21 people packed in.    The fellowship and conversation was very encouraging and uplifting.

The dawning of a new day ... it is a beautiful sunrise.  It's cold and frosty ... in the 30*'s.

I have to drop off my grainmill at the UPS Shipping Store.  Then stop at my dad's so he can look at my car.  It has been getting hot if it idles more than a few minutes.  I checked the Anti-freeze level, which is ok, and the radiator is newer...just replaced a couple of years ago.  It may be that the fan is not working.

Also, there is schooling to do.  And some more tidying to do.  N and I cleaned the majority of it last night.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything give Him thanks.

A quiet morning...

{ 06:50 , Friday, November 14, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

No Littles today, but I do have a cleaning job - the one that was postponed from last weekend.  Tomorrow, still on schedule, for the other cleaning job.  Then, it'll be my house that gets the cleaning.

Yesterday, after the Littles left, I made supper - Beef stew with Biscuit.  I was exhausted and dozed off without even cleaning up the kitchen.    How's that for keeping house!  I'm filled with embarrassment.

Also on today's schedule, after the cleaning job - come home to freshen up...then off to the Library and to do a few other errands.  I know N wants to do more shopping with her Birthday money.  I'm sure we'll be heading to the local Craft and Hobby store.  She needs more supplies for her Soap and Candle making...Lotions, too.     She would love to get her own little business going.  Her products are not your perfect, factory made things, but she does a pretty good job!

Time is flying, so I'm gonna run.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

PS - Happy 1st Birthday, Little R

In everything give thanks.

Yes, it's naptime, again...

{ 03:25 , Thursday, November 13, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

the only time I can get on the computer when the Littles are here.  Wow!  They sure are busy little boys.

It's a droopy day with off and on showers.

I got the return lable in the mail...for my grainmill.  I have to pack it up and ship it tomorrow.       It will be nice to get it back, working at 100%.    Hopefully, it won't take them too long to do what they need to do to it.  She said she would put a PRIORITY on it.

Kim said I could mill my grain at her house and my Dad offered to let me borrow his mill.  He doesn't use it too often.

**********

I received my next training assignment for the WAH Program.  It's this weekend.

So pray for me.  I'm feeling overwhelmed.        I have 2 housecleaning jobs, training, Little R's Birthday.  Plus I have to get my house spic and span for our HouseChurch meeting that we are hosting here on Sunday evening.  I like my house to be extra-special clean when Meeting is here.

Hope ya'll enjoy the rest of your day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

It's been a busy morning

The Littles are down for their nap.  N is doing some schoolwork.  All is quiet for the time being.

Little R was dropped off shortly after 6am...Again, for the second time.  No advance notice that he would be here an hour earlier than normal.  I questioned Dad..."Did your schedule change?"   "Oh, yeah." was his reply.  This isn't the first time there's been a lack of communication with this family.

So, anyway...both the Littles are rather moody today.  Maybe it's the dreary weather.  Little R has a bit of a stuffy / runny nose.  I hope he's not getting sick.  He celebrates his 1st Birthday this weekend.  No fun being sick on your Birthday.

**********

I burnt another pot last night.  Another?   you ask.    It's a bad habit of mine.  I've done 3 in the past year.  It's always the smaller size pots.  Maybe I can find some at the Goodwill or Thrift store.  Don't want to pay too much for them knowing the fate that may be awaiting them.       So anyway, my house smells like something burned.  I try to camoflouge the smell with spices but it is not working that well.

Guess I'd best go and clean up the lunch mess.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything give Him thanks.  (even burnt pots)

Some have asked to see photos of the Maltipoo.

She looks so angelic in this still-shot photo.       HA!  Not so.  If ya'll could only see her in action.  Her little halo is held up by horns.

We always tell her, "It's a good thing you're so cute.  It gets you out of alot of trouble!"

A Sunny Saturday

{ 07:03 , Saturday, November 8, 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }

Yesterday, we did the grocery shopping.  Came home and cleaned-up the kitchen.  The pile of dishes was overflowing.       Then I made another mess...baked some cakes for our HomeChurch meeting.  The meeting went well.  The overall encouragement to each other was that GOD IS IN CONTROL, JUST REST IN HIM.

We did get some much needed rain in the evening / night time.  But not enough to put a dent in the shortage.  Oh well, every little bit counts, right?!

Today, N wants to go shopping to spend some of her Birthday money.  I'll have to see how she feels when she wakes up.  She was sick to her stomach in the middle of the night.     I hope it was just something she ate that did not agree with her, and that she is not really *sick.*

Tomorrow, I have a house cleaning job.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

God is in control.

"Weapon of choice"

{ 10:10 , Friday, November 7, 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }

Well, its been a while since the little sister has been around, sorry.  The elections are over, and we will soon have a man as president, who claims to be a christian.  Although I feel it would be great to have an african american president for the sake of the african american men and women of our dear country, I would prefer one with a true christian worldview.  This man does not, and is deceiving mass amounts of lukewarm, worldview confused christians.  He stands wholeheartedly in support and advocacy of many immoral issues, one of which is abortion, at any time during pregnancy.  This means, premie murder, infanticide, which he plans to make completely legal, without limits.  This man does not know the Jesus I know.

I cannot express my outrage at the already rampant holocaust that has been going on in America, thanks in part to a politically silent, ineffective religious churches of all denominations, which claim to be the voice of God on the earth.  Yet, for years now, church pulpits remain obediently silent  to their 501c3 government censorship contract with the US government, which purchases their "voice"  and consitutional ability to effect the community with truth on political "hot topics" of national sin and abomination, in exchange for a status with the IRS, which offers tax breaks and big financial benefits for church bank accounts.  This is the "love of money"  of the most subtle, underhanded, and self-serving kind, which explains the declining significance of institutionalized church organizations.  A government censored, spiritually impotent church, produces politically correct, biblically diluted citizens who stand for little, or it lacks such power as to even save/ or effect sincere change in the lives of people in the first place.

I am thankful for the many prophets of old that could not/would not be purchased for mammon, rather, they EXPOSED and SPOKE out the unpopular message of "TURN AND REPENT", even though it cost them everything, even their lives.

I wrote this poem, years ago, after seeing the photos of little innocent premature babies, with holes in the backs of their skulls where a pair of scissors had been inserted to kill them.  I had seen their little bodies torn in pieces, at the hands of their parents choice.  Yet all the while, most churches sit  in politically correct silence, as they did in the days of Hitler, when they would just turn up their organ music louder, so their entertaining church services wouldnt be disturbed by the screams of the jews begging for their help, as they went by in the trains.

I pray christians in our country wake up and realize the true laodicean, lukewarm condition of their churches, and decide whose side they are really on.

"Weapon of Choice"

No longer sacred

the secret place

In the belly, Gods' bounty

now considered mere waste

They Scatter their seeds

upon casual fields

with no concern for the harvest

simply pluck out its yield

but what of blood,

of flesh, of bone?

this breath of life

only God should own

yet souls are ascending

in legions they rise

chosen as offering

convenience, the prize

sleep little soul interrupted

weep womb made void

momma and daddy wield the scalpel

with the weapon of "choice"

A New Day Has Dawned

{ 07:00 , Friday, November 7, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

Here it is, 7am.  The sun has not fully risen, but it is light outside.  The sky is a beautiful color, for now.  There is a chance for T-storms this afternoon.  So...

I will get my errands done this morning.

Then I need to clean my house.       Yesterday, Little A was here for his normal 9 hours.  Little R was here for 12 hours.  Needless to say, I didn't get any housework accomplished.  After Little R finally went home, we went to Kim's for supper.  Moe's* quesadilla's were on the menu.  YUM!  I think they tasted extra good to me because all I had time to eat all day was a couple of cookies.  (At least they were healthy, homemade cookies.)

During their nap time, I was on the phone to the company about my grain mill.  Kim noticed the other day that the cover in the hopper was missing.  I didn't know there was supposed to be one...no picture of the inside of the hopper in the manual.   Anyway, even set on the *finest* setting, my flour is still gritty.  I thought this was the norm.  Not so.  So, the verdict is that I have to send my mill back to the company to be looked at / repaired.

Well, time is slipping away, so I'm gonna run.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

I will follow Him all the days of my life.

I need to vent!

{ 10:15 , Thursday, November 6, 2008 } { Link }

I am not very articulate, nor am I eloquent with my words, but I will try to express myself the best I can.   *** Read this at your own discression.***

As I've said before, I don't engage in political debate.  I look at all sides (R, D, L, I, C and whatever else they call themselves) and make my decision as to whom I feel has the best in Christian moral and ethical values, etc...  Our nation, The USA, was founded on Christian / Biblical principles and values.   The President elect possesses NONE OF THEM!  Oh, dear Lord, help us few who still stand on your side.

Let me also point out that the government offers Churches the tax exempt option with the 501C3.  The Churches that have bought into this TAX EXEMPT status have been politically silenced.

So, how many *Christians* have been deceived by the arrogant President elect who has woooed the people with his lofty speeches and promises?

A man who ...

**Is all for abortion for any reason at any time.

**Hates America and says we are no longer a Chrisitan nation

**Refuses to salute the American flag and has, with his wife, attended flag burning ceremonies

**Hates the national anthem and wishes it was *I'd like to teach the world to sing*  Excuse me!  If he ever studied American History, he would know why our national anthem is what it is and why Francis Scott Key penned those words.

**Has admitted his Muslim faith and is deeply involved with others who feels the same way he does about our nation.

**Has not produced a USA birth cetificate.  How did this man make it this far in American politics?

**Involved in ACORN.  CNN did the investigation. Check it out.  Illegal and fraudulent.

Did anyone notice that the media may have slightly mention some of these things but then brushed it all under the rug.

But did you notice that the media certainly made high profile of Sarah Palin and the BIL issue.

The President elect has promised CHANGE for our nation.  But have the people done their research??? Do they realize the extent of the CHANGE this man is wanting to bring???

I feel like Abraham when he was in Sodom and Gomorrah...praying for God to spare the cities if he could find just a few people who would serve Him.  Who is willing to stand on the Lord's side?  Only time will tell.

Oh God, have mercy on us.  I know you are in control.

What a day...

{ 06:01 , Wednesday, November 5, 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }

I overslept this morning.    The Maltipoo woke me 3 times, in the middle of the night, to go potty.

Both the Little's (A & R) were here today, which makes for a non-stop day.

As soon as they left, I got supper started.   We've just eaten, so now I have a few free minutes to get on the computer, before I go wash the dishes.  Then, N wants us to watch *My Fair Lady.*  (at least start it)  So, I guess I'll scoop us some icecream and relax for the evening.

6pm here and the sun has set for the night.  It was a gorgeous day today...in the low 70*'s.  Tomorrow and Thursday the same.

Hope ya'll have a great evening.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

It's a beautiful morning.  The sunrise is so pretty.  The Autumn colors are blooming.

Today, I need to:  Bake, Bank, Finish this week's menu, Vote, and whatever else comes along that needs to be done.

Gotta run.

Hope ya'll have a great day.  And remember ... PRAY!!!

In everything give Him thanks.

Good Monday Morning

{ 07:26 , Monday, November 3, 2008 } { 0 comments } { Link }

We've been blessed with another day to enjoy all the He has in store for us.  I'm hoping to be back into routine.  Last week was just so out-of-routine.  It was difficult for me to function.  But, with His help...I survived.

Remember to be in prayer for our country and tomorrows election.  We just have to keep in mind that God is in control.  He already knows who will win this election.  So, whatever the outcome,  God is, and will still be, forever, God, no matter what!

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

This is the day that the Lord has made.  I will rejoice and be glad in it.

The Wacky Week...

And a very busy one at that!     I'm exhausted, but I need to keep going.  I have a cleaning job today and HomeChurch Meeting tonight.  We're having a bon fire.  I'm hoping that tomorrow will bring things back to *normal.*

Forgot to set the clocks last night.  HA HA ... I woke up at what I thought was 6am.  Oh well...at least I had a good nights rest.  I was sleep deprived this past week.

Training went well.  I'm waiting to hear from them again.  As I wait, I need to study the new material.  It's alot to take in.

Hope ya'll have a great day.

In Him,  Jill (the big sister)

In everything, give Him thanks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Today is my Special Blessing's 14th Birthday.

WOW!  I can remember, like it was yesterday, the day I gave birth to this precious bundle of joy and love of my life.  She is truly a gift from God.  I thank Him, everyday, for giving her to me.

1 Month Old.

So, Happy Birthday my darling.  May it be filled with love and blessings.

Love, Momma
