Whew!  It seems every time I sit down to blog, someone calls me or the baby wakes up or screams of MOM!!! can be heard.
Last night was kind of rough- Charlie woke up twice needing "adoo 'n' sooger".  Translation?  A drink of water (adoo) and hugs and kisses, or "sugar" (sooger).  So, adding to that my getting up 3 times to pee, and I did not get a night of very high quality sleep.  Chas left for work st 5 AM and the rest of us slept til after 9, and I woke up feeling groggy, so I declared a day off from our lessons.  The boys have been watching movies all day, and I get some time to blog finally!
On the baby front~~~Mystery baby Miller is growing by leaps and bounds!  I'm 24 weeks now, and at my last prenatal visit with the midwife I asked him if he was sure I had only one in there because my belly is getting so huge!  I guess I just grow em big.  However, my weight gain is right on track...11 pounds so far.  If I can keep it at under 25 pounds for the entire duration, I will be very happy.
I have never followed a pregnancy diet per se.  I despise dieting, calorie counting and weighing myself all the time.  While pregnant, I try to just follow a few simple rules.  Drink as much water as I can.  Take good basic supplements including Nature's Prenatal, Omega 3 or Flaxseed Oil, SKL Formula (calcium/magnesium) extra b12 to combat stress, garlic to fight off colds and yeast infections (and to treat the beasty yeasties should they appear), and colliodal minerals.   Make the best food choices whenever possible.  Sure, I indulge.  A few times a week!  But I don't freak out over counting calories and I don't stress over not getting enough of this or that.  At each meal or snack, whatever is onhand at home, I try to eat the best of what is available.  If all there is for dinner is burgers and fries, I just try not to overindulge.  I walk when I can and have a few good prenatal workout DVD's I like, and I try to use them a couple of times a week.

That's pretty much it.

It is always so exciting to feel those first movements, then to be able to put your hand on your belly and feel them from the outside, but the coolest of all is being able to SEE the baby move!  The other night I sat watching TV, feeling the little peanut squirm and roll all over the place.  I lifted up my nightgown and watched in aweas ares of my belly raised up in little bumps, then back down, then over and up...it was just a really happy moment.  The kids have all been able to feel the movements, too, and it made them giggle happily.
I'm not sure if at 22 months old Charlie can really understand about the baby.  I tell him there's a baby in my belly, and he kisses my growing belly and hugs it, but I wonder if he "gets" it?  Well, he will soon enough, and we wait in anticipation to see if Charlie will be an easygoing big brother or see the new baby as a threat.  He loves babies, but how much will he love the presence of one in our home 24/7?  We shall see.
Dominic (11) has always been the one who is best at entertaining Charlie and making him laugh, sometimes making Zachary (8) feeling inept at being a big brother, so I told Zachary that this new baby would be "his special baby" and he would belong to him the same way Charlie "belongs" to Dominic.  That made him happy, and when he felt the baby move the first time, I told Zach that his brother or sister was giving him a high five!
