Well... as you can see from my blog title, I'm a "wanna-be". But am I REALLY a "wanna-be"? I mean all that yucky stuff with homesteading -- it kinda scares me.
Like chickens and eggs and blood and guts and .... ewwww.....I'm already getting sick to my stomach. Ok -- it's decided -- NO CHICKENS! I would like some horses, but they have lots of gross things too...
I wouldn't mind a little log cabin with a fireplace and a front porch with a swing -- see that picture up there in the upper left hand corner? Yep, that's it -- that's what I want.
And the scenery....aahhhhh. Who wouldn't want to wake up and see the sunrise and green grass for MILES and MILES.... every day..... aaahhhhh ...... somebody wake me up out of this dream!
But, homesteading isn't just about animals and log cabins and scenery is it? It's about family ... and creating a simpler life ... and slowing down ... and truly enjoying the wonderful things that God Almighty created ... as it was meant to be enjoyed ... kind of like the Garden of Eden, right?
Of course there were animals somewhere around the Garden of Eden, but do you think there were log cabins? Or porches with swings? Oh well, I digress...
Come encourage me... because I don't see any hope on the horizon for moving out of this Chicago suburb ... more about that later ...
