We were camping over the weekend in the beautiful App mountains of
Tennessee and Virginia - right on the border. It was so lovely. Our
tent was set back against a wide yet shallow (loud - lovely) creek that
we fell asleep to each night. Man it was wonderful. Our friends own
over 250 acres and we did a family camp. All the kids had a blast. I
brought my homemade salsa and did Mexican omelettes in the mornings.
They were a hit! The whole weekend was very restful, but I do have
sunburn. :-)

Your camping sounds wonderful. Being from West Virginia and being raised in WV I still never tire of the beauty of our Mountains.
God Bless,
Tammy

My dream has always been to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. One of the most beautiful places in the world. Did you take pictures?? We want to see.
The daily, hopefully not too fragmented, display of whatever is on the homesteading segment of my scattered brain. I love anything farm...ranch...sufficiency. Y2K was the highlight of my late 20s - well, preparing for it was. Even though nothing happened, I learned a lot, and it birthed a new interest in things I'd previously cared nothing about. I love canning, making masa, and drying vegetables. I want to learn to make salsa, fruit butters and sauces, and soap. Oh, and candles, too. Can someone tell me what lye is and where to find it? And do I need goggles? Help.
