Today I made strawberry/banana smoothies for me and the kids. Man they
were GOOD. I included blueberry yogurt, lots of ice, and the berries
themselves were frozen solid to begin with. It was so refreshing. What
are some of your favorite types of smoothies?

I like to use yogurt (strawberry or vanilla), strawberries and some orange juice (sometimes use just the frozen concentrate- straight) with a lot of ice.
I also love to make *fake* Orange Julius too!

I like kefir in my smoothies along with some fresh and/or frozen fruit, and maybe a little fresh fruit juice too. Pineapple, banana, and strawberries are really good together. And if I'm feeling REALLY crazy I put a little honey in too.
Hello! :) My name is Robin and I saw that you added my name to your Friend's list here at Homestead Blogger. Thanks so much - I look forward to getting to know you through our blogs.
Just this evening I transferred all of the entries from my other blog to this one, if you'd like to take a peek.
Thank you for stopping by - have a wonderful Fourth of July/Independence Day! Warmly, Robin
P.S. We love smoothies here, too. our typical smoothie is:
1 bag of frozen organic raspberries
2 bananas
Goatmilk
1 tsp spirulina
2 TBS each of raw wheatgerm and flax seeds
1 TBS of a fruit powder mix.
YUMMMM!

My friend Dalyn makes her own kefir. I bought some in the store a while back (strawberry flavored) and it was SO GOOD. Dalyn, do you make flavored kefirs?
Oh you know I do sister!
As a matter of fact, my favorite smoothie recipe is in the current issue of Above Rubies- much to my UDDER (get it- goats, udder, you know...) delight!
I just know you ALL get that magazine!
Use kefir instead of yogurt or joice and you have a anti-tumor, antibacterial, antibiotic, healing of digestion problem kind of drink instead of just "healthy" or tasty.
This is what my kids ask for all day...fruit smoothies.
We just take a bag of frozen fruit fill up the blender and then add any fruit juice you have on hand to the top of the fruit and blend until smoothie like.
Very Yummy and refreshing. It is a favorite around here.
Blessings,
Andrea
The daily, hopefully not too fragmented, display of whatever is on the homesteading segment of my scattered brain. I love anything farm...ranch...sufficiency. Y2K was the highlight of my late 20s - well, preparing for it was. Even though nothing happened, I learned a lot, and it birthed a new interest in things I'd previously cared nothing about. I love canning, making masa, and drying vegetables. I want to learn to make salsa, fruit butters and sauces, and soap. Oh, and candles, too. Can someone tell me what lye is and where to find it? And do I need goggles? Help.
