It's been such a horrible weekend to our family. We've been looking into buying 3.4 acres to build a home and was not approved for a loan we could afford. We have good credit but have had some hard times in the past like many of us. Appearntly they wanna lend people money who have money and lots of things for collateral. Our home is filled with used furniture or hand me down and our home and van are the only debt we have. Of course we like it that way. So, we're back to square one and will probably have to end up paying cash for what we find, which would probably be better in the long run.

1) What was I doing 10 years ago? Let's see, I was 19. I had just gotten home from College Station, Tx from living up there and "Supposed to be going to school" but I partied too much. I was working at a Baptist Church daycare here in town. 2) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today? pick up Taylor's meds, goto the grocery store for a few things, surprise the kids with a cotton candy blizzard from Dairy Queen, finish up the laundry 3) Snacks I enjoy: ice cream sandwhiches, banana pudding 4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire: Buy any land we want and build a house with more then one bathroom and a laundry room. Anything we want. Take the kids on a road trip vacation and stash alot of it back for their college. 5) Places I have lived: I have lived here in Bay City for 26 years but I was born in Vero Beach, Florida. Today is my first daughter's graduation. She is 6 years old going on 16. She's growing up so fast. I can't beleive how time has flown by us. Im ready for the summer though so I can do more things with her. We've started reading Anne of Green Gables together. Now, if I can just get her to stay awake. She fell asleep on me in the 2nd chapter. Poor dear, I think she's so tired after school.

So we had little Morgan's party today at her preschool with her and her friends. Very simple, just cupcakes and a small container of ice cream. The theme was wild animals and everyone took home a foam animal mask. They enjoyed playing with the baby more then anything though. I should've just brought her along and called her the party. I can't beleive she will be 3. She's growing up so fast. Even though she still sleeps with mommy and daddy, she wants to everrrrrrything by herself. Including dressing herself. Last week we met my mom at Pizza Hut for lunch and she had her dress on backwards and I just threw up my hands and said well if you can pull it off then let it be. She was so tickled with herself.

I just wanted to take this time to remember a fallen hero in Iraq I had gone to school with. He will be the first in our county. His name is David McCormick. He was 26 years old and the youngest of 4. His older brother still resides in Iraq. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all the ones he left behind. And God bless our troops and their famililes as well.

It's such a nice day outside today. Glad we're gonna fix the pool up this weekend. I'm so ready for the summer when the kids are home and we can do fun stuff. I bought a strawberry plant a few weeks ago and it's blooming like crazy. We got to pick our first one off yesterday. The kids thought it was the greatest thing. So it's been almost a month now that we have really cracked down looking for that perfect peice of property. I feel like it has pretty much consumed my life. Everything seems like to be in bad location or just way out of our league. I'm praying that we will be able to find something perfect for us soon. I also found this reciped I wanted to share. It's one of my family's favorite side dishes that I make often. Country corn bake 2 cans Mexican style whole kernal corn, drained 1 can condensed cream of potato soup 1/2 milk 1/2 c thinly sliced celery 1 1/3 cup French fried onions, divided 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese 2 Tbs bacon bits Preheat oven to 375. Combine corn, soup, milk, celery, 1/3 c onions, cheese and bacon in large bowl. Spoon into 2 qt. square baking dish. Cover; bake 30 min. or until hot and bubbly. Stir; sprinkle with remaining onions and bake uncovered until onions are golden. Hope you enjoy and God bless!!!!!! Welcome to my blog {

Wow, so this is my first blog. I guess I can start off by telling you a little about myself. Im a SAHM of 3 DD. Theiir ages are 6, almost 3 and 5 months. I've been happily married to a wonderful man and father for 7 years this year. We currently live in a small town southeast of Houston and looking for that perfect peice of land to call our forever home out in the country to raise our children. It has always been a dream of ours to build a home to call our own. I've pretty much grown up city, or small town as you would call it. Forever having the conveinces of getting from here to there in 5 minutes. I would love to learn the ways of homesteading; canning, gardening, chickens and cooking more from scratch. I do love cooking and fishing is another one of my hobbies. My children are not homeschooled as of now. My 6 yr old attends public school about 5 min. away from here and my 3 yr old is in a private christian based preschool. She attends 2 days a week.
