Proverbs of the day
Pro 13:17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is helath. Pro 13:18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honored. Pack a shoe box!!! Still Time!
There are still a few days left to get those shoe boxes packed!!!! You can enter your zip code to find the nearest location to drop them off. Bless a child! copy and paste on your browser: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC.asp?MPGID=1 Proverbs of the WeekI love Proverbs, so I thought I would write down a few a week to memorize.
King David said he wrote Proverbs for:
attaining wisdom and discipline;
for understanding words of insight;
for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life;
doing what is just and fair;
for giving prudence to the simple;
knowledge and discretion to the young-
let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance-
for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.
So here are the Proverbs for this week:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 1:7
A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself, but the heart of fools blurt out folly.
Proverbs 12:23
Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advise. Proverbs 13:10
All man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.
Proverbs 16:2
The Weak and the StrongRomans 14The Weak and the StrongAccept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall. So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.
These verses speak on what I was trying to convey. They do not only apply to food, but to other non-salvation issues. So I am convicted to keep my personal convictions, and what I believe about my own applications to myself, and I hope others will also see the wisdom in these verses. Thankfulness by Shalom Pearl BrandThankfulnessMy husband is a mechanic, and in his line of work he meets all kinds of different people, because everybody needs their car worked on at one time or another. There are at least two kinds of people, the thankful and the unthankful. My husband has a customer from out of state who comes by for Justin to look at his van during those times when he is in town visiting friends. Justin will stop everything he is doing just to help him, because this man’s heart runs over with thankfulness. But there are other customers who come in that, no matter much how Justin goes out of his way to help them, they never think to say, “thank you,” and they never act like they appreciated what he has just done for them. They will often come up with one thing or another that they think he is doing wrong, even though they might not know anything about cars. Their unthankful attitude portrays their unhappiness with life. Justin really does not care to do business with them at all; it just isn’t worth the hassle. Now, I know we should do our best for everyone, whether they are thankful or not. But, without forethought, we have a tendency to more readily respond to a thankful person. How would you feel if you gave a present to your best friend and she looked at you with a grimace and said, “Thank you, but I don’t need this blouse, besides I only wear name brands”? Yes, she did say the words “thank you,” but her attitude was one of ungratefulness. Would you readily go out and spend another thirty dollars on her, hoping she will like the gift this time? When does thankfulness start? You, as a parent, teach your child to say, “thank you,” and everyone thinks it is so cute. But are you teaching them to be thankful as well? Thankfulness is more caught than taught. It comes from the heart, not the will, and not from good habits. Thankfulness is opposed to whining and griping; a child can’t do both. So, a thankful child is a happy child. If a mother is joyful, the child will be as well. If the mother is unthankful, she will never teach her children to be thankful, no matter what they say in response to a gift. Most of the time, when I observe children with bad attitudes and bad actions, it is due to their not being thankful for what others are doing for them. Gracie, my little two-year-old, is thankful about everything. If I get up in the middle of the night to take her to the bathroom, afterward when she is lying on my shoulder, barely awake but kissing me, she says over and over again; “Thank you, Mama, thank you, Mama.” They are not just words to her, but a part of her heart, a part of who she is. At mealtime, she is always thankful for the food I put in front of her. We expect her to be thankful for the time I spent making it. We teach her to be aware of the sacrifices others make for her. When I am about to serve food that I think may be too spicy for her, or if I am serving a food I know she just does not like very well, I tell her before I put it in front of her, “Gracie you do not have to eat this; just tell Mama ‘No, thank you,’ because Mama worked really hard making this food for you and Daddy.” I instruct her thus so as not to create an attitude of unthankfulness. The food is not the issue; her heart is. Because we have focused on the heart, there are very few healthy foods that she does not like. I know that Gracie gets more than her share of gifts, because when you give her something, no matter what it is (even if it is small), she is so full of joy and thanksgiving. I have never really told her to say the words, “thank you”; she just learned that it was the word to say when you feel happy and thankful. Now, she uses it to express an attitude of gratefulness that has nothing to do with the word itself. Parents, you must learn to be thankful for the little things in life that are so big in the eyes of a two-year-old. I do not know how you feel, but I know that when my little girl is 18 years old, I want her to be filled with thankfulness that her parents are watching out for her best interests. I want her to have a good attitude toward life and toward us. From the time Gracie was born, I always expressed great thankfulness toward life in general, and she is always watching and listening. I will tell her, “Daddy works so hard so that we can eat; let’s rub Daddy’s feet for him.” Justin, in the same manner, will say, “Look at Mama, she’s cooking supper for us. Do you want to help her? She loves us so much.” Whenever Gracie does something for me, like putting a piece of paper in the trash, cleaning up her toys, bringing my shoes, whatever it may be, I show her a thankful and joyful smile. She knows that I am pleased with her and with her service. She is a better helper than many six-year-old children, and has a better attitude too. I am very thankful for her help, and because she knows it, she is thankful for all the things I do for her. Gracie has two friends from a broken family, who go to public school and are not trained in any way. The little boy is five, and his sister is three; they come over and visit off and on. Their dad works for my husband. One day when I was in the shop, I told their dad that they were so good about cleaning up after themselves. He laughed and said, “They don’t do that.” I told him, “They sure do.” His children, being untrained and never cleaning up at their own home, love to clean when they come to my house. They know that I will be so thankful for their help and that I will praise them for their good work and brag on them to their dad. In times past, when their dad would come to pick them up, they would complain and whine about having to leave. It was a big, unhappy ordeal. So one day, I set them down and explained to them how their dad works so hard, then goes home and cooks for them, and washes their clothes, and takes good care of them. Then I asked them what they could do to help him. I was training them to be thankful, which translated into being hard, willing, thoughtful workers. “When your daddy comes to get you, do not complain, but be thankful that he is such a hard worker.” Well, when their dad showed up, they started eagerly putting their shoes on and gathering up their things. The five-year-old boy started to complain just a little, and right away the little three-year-old girl said, “Bubba, be sweet.” He donned a chastened look and went back to putting on his shoes. Their dad told me later that they had started cleaning up after themselves and were keeping their room clean. He said, “I do not know what has gotten into them.” I know; it is called THANKFULNESS! Only a few minutes of instruction, training, and reinforcement, and by reminding them of his sacrifice, was all it took to get them started on the road to thankfulness. It became a part of their heart and soul, once they saw their daddy’s heart toward them. Most training issues start with either a lack of instruction or too much heady, religious, soul-invading manipulation. Most of Gracie’s baby clothes were given to me, and not all of them were the cutest or in the best condition, but I would let Gracie try on every one of them and make a time of enjoyment of the gift. I would always talk about how nice the person was who thought to give us their things. It is not about the clothes or whether they are cute or not; it is about your child’s soul, and showing her a thankful spirit. Even if all I do is use the clothes for her baby doll, the point is still to be thankful. You are molding a little heart, and your every attitude will teach them how they should respond to life and to those around them. Just yesterday, on the way home from work, I asked Gracie, “Who is Mama thankful for?” I was expecting her to say, “Daddy,” or, “Gracie,” but no, she sat there for a minute and then said, “God.” I was shocked that even at the age of two she has learned what Mama is thankful for: what God has done for us! She went on, in her own little words, to say, “Mama is happy, Daddy is happy, Gracie is happy, God is happy that Gracie is happy.” I started to laugh with her, because, yes, I was happy, and I am sure God was smiling as well. Gracie is already learning to be thankful for what Christ has done for her on Calvary. It will be a few years before she totally understands why Jesus had to die for her, but she is on the right road to learning to be thankful for what he has done for her. And when the time comes for her to understand, I am certain she will be thankful for his sacrifice. More aticles by Shalom can be found at: www.nogreaterjoy.org TV FREEWell, we had our first two TV free nights in a long time. Here is what we did instead:
The first night the children played board games in the living room and my husband and I sat in there and talked, imagine that!
Last night it was a lovely warm evening, so my husband and I walked around the yard, watered the plants and animals then sat out on the deck and talked while the children jumped on the trampoline.
We are getting to bed earlier because we aren't trying to stay awake watching meaningless television. There also seems to be more peace. I can hear the sounds of the evening, the cows, and horses, the neighbors outside talking, the wind blowing thought the trees. It is so pleasant!
We did find ourselves still LOOKING at the TV...lol partly because our sofas face the TV, may need to do some re-arranging there. We do still plan to watch DVD's once and awhile, but the day before I cancelled cable our big screen TV broke. lol They will charge us $65 to come and tell us what is wrong with it, and then however much more to fix it...I don't know.
I don't really miss it, the thing I will miss most is Survivor and watching decorating and cooking shows, but a lot of things you can find on-line and Survivor will be on DVD without commercials! So really what are we missing?
Pornography, bad language, perversion, immorality, the liberal agenda, murder, death and destruction, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, stealing, husbands and parents being made to look like fools, commercials, I could go on and on!
So GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE TV!
I killed it!Well, I did it! I killed the cable tv! A modern Psalm taken from “The New International Unchristian Perversion.” “The TV is my shepherd, I shall not want anything else. It maketh me to lie down on the sofa. It leadeth me away from the Scripture. It destroys my soul. It leadeth me in the paths of sex and violence for the sponsors sake, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will enjoy the evil, for blood and sex they excite me. It’s cable and remote they comfort me. It prepares a commercial before me in the presence of my children. It anoints my head with humanism, My coveting runneth over. Surely laziness and ignorance shall follow my family all the days of our lives, and we shall dwell in the house watching TV forever.” Not anymore! The Start of a JourneyI just got off the phone with my brother who has been living in France for the last 9 months or so. I have been re-reading a book entitled, French Women Don't Get Fat. I wanted to ask him some questions regarding food and about the cultural differences here in America vs. those in Europe, Mexico and actually any other culture than here.
The number one difference we both agreed on is that most Americans place far to much importance on things, than on the quality of life. For instance, in regards to food. He said seafood is a large part of their diet, and I commented how it is pricey, but he said they would rather spend their money on good food than on the 'stuff' we spend our money on. He said most people have a small garden, they eat mostly whole foods. They don't have a lot of huge supermarkets, they have a baker, a butcher, a fish monger. They don't eat a lot processed food.
Another difference and more sinister is the how the media has such a big, and negative influence on family morals and values here in America. I honesty believe it will be (if it's not already) the downfall of our country.
I am honestly thinking hard about canceling cable, I know it will miss watching certain shows, but I have really had it! Besides, most good shows are available for rent or purchase on DVD. TV is an idol, time waster and an evil influencer! Why do we love it so much?!
He said in Europe, and I noticed this in Mexico also, that they take time to enjoy life, good food, long conversations over the table, spending time with friends, and family. I think it used to be like that here too, but more and more, especially here in California, it isn't that way....people are selfish, too busy, always running around. We work harder to try and pay for all the junk that we spend our money on and get in debt over, it's ridiculous really. I know not everyone is this way, but this is what the trend is, this is the majority.
I am a huge waster of money! It makes me sick. I like to have a pretty house with pretty things, I don't think there is anything wrong with that, but I don't need to spend as much as I do. I could be more careful and take the time to shop for bargains, make things, etc... I could be a lot more conscientious with our budget, how we are spending our time, what we are filling out hearts and minds with. The importance of these things is being lost to the mindless, depraved, and commercialized media driven culture. Why do we bow down to it? It is satan's plan and I'm sure he is thrilled!
Well, my goal is to try and put all this thought into action, this is the hard part! I am going to start with a conversation with my husband tonight about canceling cable, well, maybe after Little People Big World and Hell's Kitchen....God help me!!! This will be one of the hardest!
My plans also include changes in these areas:
Spiritual Life (I had a light bulb moment at church this past Sunday that I am excited about)
Food
Activity
Money
Relationships
I will be posting on our progress and the changes, however small. One step at a time. I know it will be a process and it won't happen over-night, but I know it has to be done for our spiritual, mental, and physical health!
What do you think?Picture Jesus stomping off angry and pouting because someone disagreed with him, or calling someone names because they were abrupt with him.
The only people he showed anger towards where the thieves in the temple, and the only name calling he did was 'hypocrite'.
Just something I was thinking about today.
Love is...

Resurrection Day!"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has RISEN!!!" Wishing you a glorious and blessed Resurrection Day! Good FridayJOHN 19The Soldiers Mock Jesus So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands.
Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.” Pilate’s DecisionThen Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, “Behold the Man!”
Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.” The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God.” Therefore, when Pilate heard that saying, he was the more afraid, and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?” Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.” From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.” When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!” But they cried out, “Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified. Then they took Jesus and led Him away. The King on a CrossAnd He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was:
JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘He said, “I am the King of the Jews.”’” Therefore the soldiers did these things. Behold Your Mother Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!”
Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.
It Is FinishedAfter this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!”
Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Jesus’ Side Is PiercedTherefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” 37 And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”
Jesus Buried in Joseph’s TombAfter this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.Palm SundayHosanna! Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord. Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest. authorityI recently went to a parenting seminar given by Jonathan Lindvall.
(he is very 'bold' about his beliefs, but good about saying we all have different ways of doing what God tells us)
I was just going over some notes I took and something stood out to me on authority:
The only ligitamate use of authority is to fulfill one's own responsibility (which is to serve).
Let's go be Amish!When I was a teen I was rebellious and was into punk and the blue hair and all (it was the 80's). Anyway my friend and I used to always say, "Let's go be Amish!" There was something appealing about the simple lifestyle, an escape from the world we where living in.
Lately I sometimes think the same, "Let's go be Amish!"
Pornography and homosexuality are being shoved down our throats by the immoral, liberal media. I am feeling like it is seeping into our lives like a thick, black, evil fog. No, it's almost like carbon monoxide poisoning, it's slowly killing us and most of the time we don't even realize it, we get desensitized.
We went to the mall yesterday and it just made me feel sick. Of course there is the blatant pornography at Victoria's Secret, but there are the other stores.... I NEVER go into Spencer gifts, the only time I went in their since they opened in our mall was to complain about their pornographic calendars placed outside their door in full view of all who passed by.
Well, yesterday my son wanted a poster for his room of Pirates of the Caribbean. We had forgot to look for one when we where at Target, so I was thinking Spencer's might have one.....I walked into that store and felt such an overwhelming oppression, that I had to quickly turn around and go right back out! It was scary! Seriously!
Then we went over to a record store, another place I avoid, I've been in there twice. I was looking through the posters and was SHOCKED at the NAKED pictures of women! I would expect some swimsuit pictures, but not the kind of pictures I saw! I quickly made a remark to one of the clerks, "You know there is pornography in here right?"
"Yeah"
"I don't see any kind of warnings stating this should be for adults only"
"No, this is a pornographic industry you know."
"Any child could walk in here and see these pictures!"
Then I get a shrug. "We have to put the pictures up."
Then I said, "You could at least cover certain parts on the display poster!"
Then the manager comes by, "We would get fined by the company if we did that."
"So nobody stands up for what is right anymore?!"
Again I get the shrug. He did offer up a phone number of the company which I took down. (Trans World Entertainment 1-800-540-1242)
John J. Sullivan It got me thinking. If more people DID speak up it wouldn't be as bad as it has gotten. We just let it happen. As a Christian it is hard to know what to do. We know that the world is becoming worse and worse, but what IS our responsibility? I'm not sure. I will continue to speak up when I feel I should. I will also will no longer give these stores my business.
I will also continue to shelter my children from this stuff as much as I can. I couldn't help but think of all those parents who let their children wander the mall....it just makes me sick. It is things like this that make me want to go be Amish. Do you know what I mean?
I watched an excellent movie recently called, Time Changer, I HIGHLY recommend you watch it as a family, and tell people at church to watch it too, it is really eye opening and convicting!
Thoughts on Titus & Self-ControlTitus 2:3-5 says as older women we are to have behavior becoming holiness, not malicious gossips or false accusers.
Not slaves to any addictions, to be teachers of what is right.
We are to teach younger women to have affection and friendships with their husbands and children.
We are to be of sound mind, self-controlled, and to be discreet.
We are to be pure, modest, and free from defilement, and a keeper and guard of our home, domestically inclined.
We should be kind and good to benefit others, doing useful work.
Wives are under the authority of their husband.
We do all of this so the word of God may not be defamed. At a mom's meeting last night, one of the mothers read aloud the book of Titus. She did it in a very convicting way! It was excellent really and what I needed to hear.
Afterward we went over the meaning of some of the words. Many things stood out to me especially being self-controlled. I struggle with that in many areas: eating, spending, laziness, selfishness, what comes out of my mouth, etc...
The meaning of the word self-controlled (sophron & sophronos): A person who places voluntary limitations on his own freedom with proper thinking. Sensible, heedful of consequences, prudent, wise, using good judgment, temperate and restrained, discreet, sober, a person with a sound mind, marked by self-restraint, not excessive or violent.
The wonderful thing is, although these things seem hard to obtain, they really aren't. Titus 2:11-14 says: For the GRACE of God that brings SALVATION has appeared to ALL men, TRAINING us to renounce ungodliness, renounce worldly passions, to live SELF-CONTROLLED, upright and godly lives, IN THIS AGE waiting for our blessed hope - the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ who gave himself for us to REDEEM US from all lawlessness, to purify for Himself a people for His own possession who are ZEALOUS FOR GOOD WORKS!
Our gift of grace brings us salvation and if we are saved than God is training us to be self-controlled. Just as we train up our children, God is training us up. If we are not being self-controlled we are being disobedient; we aren't living the way God wants us to live. In verse 5 it says we do these things so that the word of God may not be reviled, that word, reviled, is blashemeo in the Greek, and it means: to defame, speak evil, hurt the reputation. So if we aren't obeying God we are hurting His reputation and defaming His word!
I believe that God's grace covers a multitude of my sins, but I also know that a lot of my sin is a selfish choice I make, even when the Holy Spirit is prompting me to obey, I choose not to. This is sin that hurts God and ruins the life God wants me to live. God only wants the best for me, and just as I do with my own children, he sets rules and boundaries for my own good. If I choose to reject his laws than I can expect consequences.
I am going to give my will over to God. I will do my best to obey, not to be selfish and think I know more than Him, to not live in fear, and to put my trust in Him. God says He didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound-mind. This is His word! If we don't have these things it is because of us! We let the devil rule our lives, not God.
I will also try and listen when the Holy Spirit is speaking to me, and not tune out because at the time it feels better to do what I'm doing. I will remember that there are consequences. I will pray for His strength to carry out these things, because I cannot do it in my own power. I want to live the best life God has for me! I want to be able to share my blessings with others, to be an example of God's word and be zealous for good works!
Fruit of the SpiritSomething I read this morning that we all need to meditate on! (Including myself!):
The fruit of the Spirit refers to the virtues of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility) and self-control. When you display irresponsible behaviour, pride, expressions of enmity, lack of love, and other works of the flesh (Galatians. 5:19-21), you are lacking the fruit of the Spirit. If you have been born again by the power of the Holy Spirit, you are eligible to receive the things of the Spirit of God. You must be willing to let the Holy Spirit produce these virtues within you (Gal. 5:22,23).
Thankfulness
Today I am thankful for our cars! Without our cars my husband couldn't do his job, I couldn't take the children to their activities, grocery shopping would be horrible, and how would I pick up things like chicken feed?
ThankfulnessI am thankful for my three sons! They are a gift from God and are all very special! I love them so much!
