A Peek into My Book, "The Word of God on Prosperity"
I love these Scriptures! It takes the guess work out of whether or not God wants to prosper his people!
Deuteronomy 8:18
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Job 36:11
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Psalm 35:27
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Interesting isn't it?!?
Hey, you want to know what the Word has to say concerning prosperity?
Check out my book, "The Word of God on Prosperity" over at http://www.candyfoote.com/
It's on sale this month!

Moving
I am still digging through this place trying to prepare for our move to Alaska.
The funny thing is, I am not a pack-rat!
I am constantly decluttering. Some would say that I declutter a little too much.
Wow! Stuff really adds up.
The thing is, what is really worth taking over 4,000 miles!?!
I can't thing of too many things that really need to make this trip.
One thing for sure, I have found out which school books are my absolute favorite.
That helps a lot; not only with packing, but with teaching as well.
Keep me in prayer as I try to find my way out of all of this stuff in New York!

Special of the Month
|
“The Word of God on Prosperity”
is the special of the month.
Prosperity! It seems that everyone is always talking about it. But, what does God have to say on the subject?
This book is filled with the Word of God concerning prosperity.
Does God want me rich?
Does God want me poor?
Find out what He has to say in His Word.
“The Word of God on Prosperity” is an excellent study guide.
It would work great for any Christian searching for God’s truth on the subject.
I highly recommend the “Word of God” series to homeschoolers. These awesome little books make great copy work books!
Check it out at http://www.candyfoote.com/

Using a Real Old-fashioned Cookstove
Yes, we really use an old-fashioned cookstove.
I love it!
My husband doesn't love it as much as I do,
since he has to supply all of the small wood for it all winter.
Anyway, we just got it fired up for the season the other day.
It feels soooo good.
All of our meals just simply taste better when cooked on the cookstove.
How many of you use a cookstove?
Don't you just love it?!?
Our Big Move to Alaska
After three days of trying to get things organized to move,
I realized that I have only been working with books!!!
That's the bad news. The good news is that books are really the only thing that is the problem.
I don't have a lot of stuff. I just can't stand to have stuff.
I hate knick-knacks and things that are considered simply decorations.
That comes in helpful now that I am trying to pack things up.
My, "I've gotta have that book," problem isn't helping out too much though!
I have most of them sorted into simply garbage, give away, pack it up, can't do without it yet, and sell piles.
Wow, what a project.
So, if you are looking for some cheap used books be sure and check out http://www.candyfoote.com/
I am adding new books slow, but sure.
Keep checking back.
I have listed them as low as I can without paying to give them away.
I really don't want to take over four thousand miles!
After I get these books under control, I will either tackle clothing or the pantry.
Neither one looks to promising.
I have never had a problem dejunking. Actually, I get rid of stuff on a daily basis. My kids would say that I dejunk way too much.
Well, I sure am glad that I have been dejunking all along. Other wise, I would never make it to Alaska. I would be buried some where in a house of stuff.
Candy
Moving to Alaska
It's overwhelming to say the least.
How do I get a house full of stuff ready to move to Alaska?
Stuff, stuff, stuff!
Blah!
Don't you hate stuff?
It seems like I keep going through this stuff over and over.
Garbage piles, give away piles, I can't do without yet piles, and pack it up piles.
Any helpful ideas?
Candy
Disposable Clothing
I love styrofoam.
Really!
Whenever the kids ask what I would like for Christmas, Mother's Day, or my birthday, I answer the same way.
"I want styrofoam."
Styrofoam plates, cups, and bowls, along with plastic silverware are the best gifts.
Now, I realize that this isn't the most frugal, healthy, or environmental idea, but weighed against my peace of mind, it seems like a great idea.
Along that idea, I was thinking, wouldn't it be great to have disposable clothing.
No more mounds of laundry!
No more laundry mat!
No more washer and dryer!
I think it sounds like a great idea!
Please remember as you read this post that this comes from a mom of twelve.
Hmm, disposable clothing.... something to think about.

As in the Days of Laura Ingalls
Don't you ever wish you had a parlor?
You know, the kind from the days of Laura Ingalls?
I know that I do!
With all of these kids running around it gets difficult to stay up on housework.
Believe me, it is not a mess because I never do anything!
I love the idea of a parlor.
No one ever enters that room unless company arrives or it needs to be straightened up.
Company is immediately wisked into the parlor, so they never get a chance to see the peanut butter painted on the table and benches.
Company never gets a chance to see the couches covered with the mounds of clean clothes.
Company never gets a chance to fight the laundry pile in order to use the bathroom.
Ahh, the idea of a parlor sounds so lovely right now; doesn't it?
I Needed More Than a Week
Well, today is Monday, so let's see how well I did on my goals list!
# 1- Get all of the laundry done - all of it!
Okay, not all of it, but A LOT of it. Thank you Olivia and Heather!!
# 2- Organize all of those clean clothes.
Hmm, well, at least we started organizing them.
# 3- Prepare for the next six weeks of school.
Did I mean part of the six weeks or all of them?
# 4- Do an all around house clean-up.
Okay, I really did an all around house clean-up.
You just can't tell it now.
# 5- Finish reconstructing my website. http://candyfoote.com/
Yeah, I did a lot on my website.
I am adding more daily!
# 6- Discipline myself to blog daily. Well, hopefully daily.
Hey, at least I am blogging more than I was.
# 7- Keep working on my next three books!
I forgot how much work it is to write a book.
# 8 - Can tomatoes.
Sorry, tomatoes, I couldn't find time for you.
# 9- Freeze peppers.
I never froze any peppers, but we ate a lot of them.
# 10- Wrap and freeze about 300 pounds of beef from the bull that we just had butchered.
We ended up getting 400 pounds of beef!
I guess you know what the menu will look like all month.
Now add in my grandson getting an infection and being put into the hospital.
Plus, attending an aunt's funeral .
All and all, I think it was a successful week "off".
Thanks For the Prayers
Gabriel is coming home!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of the prayers!!
Candy
Pray Please
My daughter, Jaimie is at the hospital with her little baby.
He will be four weeks old tomorrow.
Well, when she went to change his diaper yesterday, she noticed a bump that resembled a boil on his bottom
It burst open and drained quite a bit of poison.
She rushed over to the hospital, and they kept him over night.
They are keeping him tonight also.
They aren't sure what is going on, but they want to get rid of the infection that is in it.
They even put him on IVs!
The poor little guy.
Not to mention, poor momma.
Please keep Jaimie and Gabriel in your prayers.
I'm sure Jaimie will be updating everyone when they make it home.
Be sure to check out her blog at http://www.homesteadblogger.com/JaimieBesaw/

Selling Used Books
Boy, do I ever need some help.
We are moving to Alaska. That's the good news.
My New York home is overrun with books. That's the problem.
I have decided to list them on my website http://candyfoote.com/
That could take me a while!!!
Well, I have managed to put a few of them on it.
It seems to take quite a bit of time.
I have included shipping and handling in the listed prices. Not one item is more than $5.00.
Please, please, please check it out!
If you don't see something you are interested in, then check back another day.
It will take me quite awhile to list all of these books.
I really can't take all of these books to Alaska with me.
Thanks,
Candy

Still Working on Those Goals
It sure is a good thing that I have an entire week to work on this goals list!
Olivia, Heather, and I have been steadily working on the laundry. "Mount Never Rest" as some people call it.
No organization of the clean clothes other than tossing into dressers, well, so far anyway.
Still have tons of school paper work waiting for me.
I have been working right along on the general all around house clean-up, though.
I have done quite a bit on my website http://candyfoote.com/
Well, you can see that I have NOT been disciplined enough to blog daily. Although, you must admit, I am doing much better.
I have been happily working on my next three books. (The Word of God on Prayer, The Word of God on the Words of Your Mouth, and The Word of God on Who I Am")
Both the tomatoes and peppers are still waiting in the kitchen for me.
The beef came back from the butcher, though. It was 400 pounds, not 300! Yeah! We got all of that wrapped and put into the freezer. Well, most of it. We also had a great supper!
I hope you enjoyed the update!

That way I can say that I accomplished something
on my goals list today!

A Week Off
It's time to get this place back in order!
It seems to fall out of order so easily
The kids have the next week off from school.
I have some big goals!
# 1- Get all of the laundry done - all of it!
# 2- Organize all of those clean clothes.
# 3- Prepare for the next six weeks of school.
# 4- Do an all around house clean-up.
# 5- Finish reconstructing my website. http://candyfoote.com/
# 6- Discipline myself to blog daily. Well, hopefully daily.
# 7- Keep working on my next three books!
# 8 - Can tomatoes.
# 9- Freeze peppers.
# 10- Wrap and freeze about 300 pounds of beef from the bull that we just had butchered.
Wow! Did I say vacation was for only a week.
http://candyfoote.com/
Mmmmm
Mmmmm!
I made a boiled dinner today.
I let it boil on top of our wood stove all day.
It was soooo good!
What was in it - ham, garden carrots, and garden potatoes.
We had homemade, wholegrain rolls and fried dough (doughdodgers) to go along with it.
We will be having cinnamon rolls with glaze for snack time tonight.
It was the taste of the change of the season.
It's time to change the menu over to cold weather food.

A Little Frustrated
I am still trying to "bring daddy home"!
I would love to be able to make an income off from this computer!
I have been writing books and putting them up on my website http://candyfoote.com/
I have sold one here and there, but not anything near what it would take to support this family!
I am excited about this book series, but I'm not sure where to go from here.
The Old Schoolhouse online store offered to sell my ebooks, but I was unable to figure out how to make a proper ebook cover.
Anybody have any ideas or help???
I know that the Lord is leading and guiding us. I am probably just being impatient, but I truly am anxious to get my husband home!
If you haven't checked out my website http://candyfoote.com/ yet, then go check it out!

Vacation
How many of you moms actually get vacation when the kids go on summer vacation!?!
I know that I don't!
I have been busy doing major cleaning around the house, working on writing my newest book, "The Word of God on Prayer", and preparing for the upcoming school year.
Although I have really enjoyed doing all of these things, I would not consider it a vacation!

Cleaning Out
Are you working on getting ready for the coming school season?
I have just listed many Rod & Staff teacher's manuals over at Homeschool buy.
If you are wondering what's available just scroll down this site while keeping an eye on the left hand side. My auctions are listed there.

Shelves Verses Dressers
I find that it is a lot easier to stack baby clothes neatly on a readily available shelf rather than a dresser.
Everything seems to get all messed up and lost while hiding in a dresser drawer.
Babies need to be changed a lot, so why not make things a little easier?!?

Major Monday
I really love Mondays.
We call them Major Mondays around here.
I smile whenever I hear that name!
Not everyone in the house smiles as much as I do at the mention of Major Monday.
You see, Major Monday is a major clean-up day.
Yes, we do a lot of cleaning everyday. With this many people we couldn't go without cleaning!
But, we spend a lot of time cleaning on Mondays.
We try to do major work; hence the name Major Monday.
Today everyone worked upstairs after cleaning up the yard, porch, living room and washing the dishes!
We overhauled the bedrooms!
Dressers were moved. Toys were sorted through.
We changed the furniture around. Clothes were sorted through.
It turned out awesome!
I love Major Mondays!!!

Vacation Time
With the price of gas today, I thought that I would share are "vacation" idea.
Every year we go camping at my sister-in-laws house. Now, she only lives about ten minutes away from our house. We see each other quite often, but we always have a great time.
The kids jump on the trampoline, swim in the pool, and just run around.
We stay up late making s'mores and talking.
We sleep out in our tents.
We cook on the bbq grills.
Want to have a great vacation without spending a lot of money (especially on gas)?
Why not camp out at grandma's house or a favorite aunt's?
We have been doing this for years!
We use to stay at my mother-in-law's house too, but sadly she went home to be with Jesus a few years ago. (Sadly for us - not her!!)
Hey, let me know how your vacation turns out!
http://candyfoote.com/
Sorting Laundry
I must confess, I don't sort laundry the way my momma taught me to!
You know - whites, darks, colors.
I have a lot of laundry. I mean a lot!
I sort in two different manners depending on how out of hand things are.
Usually I make a pants and shorts pile, shirts pile, socks pile, aprons and towels pile, sheets and blankets pile. This seems to work well. If everyone is yelling because they are out of pants, then it's pretty easy to locate them.
The other sorting method I use is
sorting clothes according to boy's, girl's, mom's, dad's, and baby's piles.
Again, if someone is running low, I just wash up those clothes.
Of course, laundry is always being worked on, but this system helps me to locate and conquer quickly.

I'm Going Bananas!!!!
I'm not kidding! I am seriously going bananas!
I picked up a huge, huge, huge, (boy, do I wish I had a picture to show you), huge box of bananas at Save-a-Lots for $8.00.
I gave a bunch to my father, the kids have eaten bunches and bunches, and my oldest daughter made batches and batches of banana bread.
I am trying an experiment I heard about that said you could freeze bananas. I wrapped 12 bunches of bananas in aluminum foil, then put them into freezer bags. I read that the skins will turn black, but the bananas will stay good.
I still have many bunches left!!!!
Any banana recipes you would like to share?!?
Please!!!!

The Word of God
I am sooo excited about my newest book entitled,
"The Parables of Jesus Christ".
Just as the title implies, it is filled with only the Word of God!
I am excited about using it in my own homeschool this year.
I love having my kids do copywork using God's word.
I have been wanting them to memorize the parables.
What better way then having the parables all available in one book!
I'm no expert, but it seems to me that learning Jesus' parables would be a great logic lesson also!
I can't wait to get started on them!
Hmm, am I suppose to be so excited about using my own book?!?
http://candyfoote.com/
Books
I'm very excited to say that I have finished writing,
"The Word of God on Healing" again.
Yes, again.

Well, I finally got it redone. Yeah!
Now I have
"The Word of God on Healing"
"The Word of God on Being a Woman, a Wife, and a Mother"
"The Word of God on Prosperity"
and
"The Parables of Jesus"

Relaxing Sunday
What a wonderfully relaxing Sunday.
We went for a nature walk through our woods. (We live on 100 acres!)
The kids picked wild strawberries and flowers. Of course, mom made them name the flowers!
The even examined and named the trees.
They collected flowers, milkweed, and even some moss.
We checked out how the raspberries, black caps, and blackberries were coming along. (Mmmm, I can't wait for those!)
When we returned, we strolled through our huge vegetable garden.
Then the kids played Monopoly and Yahtzee.
I got to enjoy listening to the kids practicing their muscial instruments and sing praise songs.
We layed around looking for catalogs and talking.
What a wonderfully relaxing Sunday!
Junk'n
I took some of the kids junk'n with me today. They have been waiting for their turn to go for awhile now. I hired them to do some work around the house in order for them to earn some money to go. We had a great time! The thrift shop was having a clothing sale - buy one bag for $4.00/get one bag for free. They sales ladies stuffed those bags. We got shirts, shorts, pants, dresses, socks, hats, boots, shoes, and more than I can remember. When we got home we figured out that we paid about ten cents an item!
I love teaching my kids to enjoy being frugal!
Enjoying the Baby
I've been enjoying my grandbaby!
We met my grandfather at my father's house today and took a five generation picture.
When we got home, I held her as much as the other kids would let me! It seems they think I should share her!!
Project Time
One of my summer time goals is to complete a bunch of projects and project ideas I've had going on for some time.
So far I have crocheted a blanket for my grandbaby, Makaylia. I also sewed her a pretty red furry blanket.
I am in the middle of crocheting my second grandbaby, Gabriel, a blanket. (He is due to arrive in September!) I would like to make him a furry brown blanket.
I really need to finish my son, Jacob's blue jean quilt. I should have had it done two years ago! It is made up completely of blue jean pockets! He wants a piece of fur put on the back of it.
I am crocheting liners for baby Sarah's cloth diapers. I would like to sew them inside of some flannel.
I am making special wash cloths for my married children. They say "his" and "hers" on them.
Crocheted potholders and dish rags are always on the list. I want to make extra for Christmas gifts.
Speaking of Christmas, I want to make scarfs, hats, pillows, blankets, wash cloths and towels.
I have so many more projects on my list including learning to make mozzarella and cream cheese, yogurt, and soap. (I already make laundry soap! I love that so much that I want to learn more!)
I want to make jellies and jams on top of "regular" canning. I want to add more to the garden. (It's already way too big!)
Major house cleaning is at the top of the list!
Dejunking will have to include selling some of my books. (I can't believe I said that!)
I am in the process of rewriting my book, "The Word of God on Healing". I lost it when my old computer crashed.
I have other books that are just waiting to be taken out of my notes and put onto the computer.
Wow! I had better get off from the computer and get started!
Welcome Home!!
Heather and baby Makaylia came home from the hospital today!
Welcome home!
Thanks for the prayers!
Still Waiting
We are still waiting for Heather and Makaylia to be released from the hospital. Heather is running a fever and her blood pressure is high. Please keep her in your prayers! Baby Makaylia is doing great!
Happy Father's Day
It's been a wonderful day. Too much sugar, but wonderful all the same!
Daddy wanted donuts for breakfast. That made a happy dad and many happy children!
Dad and kids had fun playing horseshoes.
We were off to get ice cream in the afternoon.
To top off our junk food diet for the day, we ordered pizza.
Buying donuts, going out for ice cream, and ordering pizza are very rare treats at the Foote house, so everyone was very excited.
We wanted to do something special for our extra-special daddy!
I'm a Grandma!!!!
Woohoo!!! I'm a grandma!
My son and his wife had a beautiful baby girl this morning at 1:38.
Yeah!
This is my first grandchild.
Welcome to the family, Makaylia!!!!!
It's Summer Time
Everyone is happy to be on summer vacation. Well, if you can call it that! We never really take summer vacation, we just change up what we are learning. The learning becomes very relaxed. It's wonderful! There's no pressure of having to get anything done. We are going to be using Mona Brookes' book, "Drawing with Children" this summer. We are still reading missionary books for family read-alouds. Of course, the nature notebooks are still being filled. We put in a huge family garden. Everyone was here to help put it in. Even our married children were home for are annual planting the garden fun. Each of the kids went off to plant there own personal gardens when the family one was put in. "Summer vacation" started on Friday and I started spring cleaning on Saturday. What are you doing this summer? Any relaxed learning involved? My kids love to read, so there will be plenty of reading material on hand. They will be working around the farm fixing fences and playing with the animals. They are hoping that their father will be taking them on a roofing job! There are plans for plenty of camping out, going swimming, fishing, boating, and making s'mores. The younger kids have started their own little business of selling fish worms. They are outside every night picking night crawlers.
Sarah Jane is still growing well. She is seven months old now! She weighs 14 pounds and 3 1/2 ounces! Her doctor said that he couldn't tell that she was a preemie by just examining her. God is soooo good.
Have a great summer!
