How Was Your Week-end?
What a week-end!
Saturday was my daughter's bridal shower.
That kept me quite busy!
I was really tired out when Sunday arrived!
My kids got me goats for Mother's Day!
A mama, a baby, and a buck.
Yeah!
We had goats a few years ago until I got tired of them. I've been wanting some back for the last year.
So, what did you get for Mother's Day?
Green Eggs and Ham
My kids love playing with chickens.
Really!
They brought one into the house to amuse their two year old sister. They fed the chicken toast, then asked me to give it a drink of my green tea.
"No," I replied, "she might lay green eggs and we are out of ham."
News From the Homestead
The generator is still at the shop!!!
Thank God for the inverter!
Our pig had 7 babies last week.
Everyone was soooo excited!
36 hours later, she gave birth to 2 dead
babies. At that point she was full of infection.
We tried to help her, but she died. The babies
got sick from nursing off from their mama, and they
all died too!
On a lighter note, the King James Version of my book,
"The Word of God on Healing" is ready.
Well, sort of!
The bound version is ready, but I haven't had a chance to
convert it over to an e-book yet.
Hopefully soon!
Anyway, it is available for $8.00.

Are Chicken Sightings a Sign of Spring????
I've heard that spring is at hand when you see the robins back in town,
but what about the chickens?
My chickens have been venturing out of the barn lately.
They made it all the way up to my porch yesterday!
I sure hope this is a sign of spring!
Have you seen any robins or chickens out lately?
Trouble on the Farm
Our bull got out last week and knocked over a grain bag.
The grain fell on top of our new baby chicks and the mama
hen. Six of them died. :(
The mama is fine. She was pinned down for awhile until
we figured out where she was.
So now we are down to five little babies.
The Bull is Out
Two of our sons decided to camp out in the back yard the other night. There is an old couch that pulls out to a bed out there. In the middle of the night our one year old bull got out. He went over and tried flipping the couch over. They woke up and found themselves and their bed up in the air. He only wanted them to move over and let him in! LOL
Headed to the Garden
My husband, kids, and I are heading out to plant the potatoes.
Yeah!!!
I can already taste those garden fresh, new potatoes!!
Plus, just when I thought I wouldn't be able to afford
to start my herb garden this year, someone came and
gave me a big bunch of oregano she dug in her garden!!
God's good!!
Bees
Woohoo!!!! I just got word that a local beekeeper
needs to get rid of some of her bees. She is going
to set us right up, plus work with my 13 year old son to
show him the ropes!
Chickens
What is it about a chicken that brings
such peace to my heart?
I could sit and look at my chickens
all day!
They seem to represent such a simple
life.
Do any of you absolutely enjoy your
chickens?
