Good Morning, Everyone... I am feeling rather dumb, this morning. I LOVE baking bread but have come across a few recipes that call for Gluten. What the heck is it and what is it for??? I went to the Health Food Store, here in town and I found Gluten Flour. I don't know if that is what they meant. I know that my bread has been turning out, pretty darned good, without the stuff but if the recipe calls for it, I would like to use it. Would someone out there please explain it to me? Does it make the bread rise higher? Is it a flavor booster? Man o man, I am definately showing the fact that I am a city girl . It looks like all the rain is over for us, for a while at least. It is still rather chilly for San Diego and my hubby has been yelling for some cinnamon rolls so I think I just may have to give them a try, today. I really need all of the calories and you know if I bake them for HIM, I am going to have to try some of them. No resistance, whatsoever. You all have a wonderful day. Hugs, Sheila My Goodness.....

Wow, I sure know now, that you don't put entries in your blog, that don't show up on your background. Sorry people. It is another blustery day. Rain and wind that is sooo strong. I heard a loud bang, about 3 this morning, out on my front deck. I got up this morning to check what it was and the wind had picked up my pot, off the table, that housed my prized "epi". I was so happy cause the fronds were getting to be 3 and four feet long. Wow, was I bummed to see about 6 of them, broken off and laying on the ground. I started to get mad and then thought to myself, WELL, now you can start some new plants with what broke off and I was always reluctant to trim them back. I HATE pruning things. I am always afraid that they won't grow back. Shame on me. I find out later that the plant is much more lush then if I had left it alone Well, I best get off and start a big pot of stew. That always goes good with a rainy and gloomy day. Bye Good Morning

Morning to all of you. I thank you so much for the warm welcome.... It is a beautiful, sunshiney day, which I am looking forward to getting out in. Tomorrow, we are supposed to get another rain. Oh my Lord, have we been getting it, lately. A little up north from me, got 8 inches of rain last night and we are supposed to get 4-6, with snow in our mountains. So much strange weather for Southern California. I long for the sunshine again. I want to watch the bulbs bloom and see if I can start something growing again in my "pots".... If any of you have good ideas on how to get some really good tomatoes, growing in a large pot, I sure would love to hear it. I have had no luck and I know that it can be done. I must be doing something wrong. I am loving to come to this site and read all of the interesting things that are posted and am getting some good ideas. I have to complet a small quilt this next week and have it ready for a "present" by next Saturday. God willing, I WILL get it done. Hugs to all of you

Hi All, I am a wannabe country woman. I have always lived in San Diego (the city of) and have always longed for a home in the country so I could plant anything that I wanted and have chickens, pigs, dogs, cats, fresh eggs and on and on. I love to read about all of the things that I "wanted" to do, in my lifetime. At the age that I am, now (64), it is obvious that I will never have that dream so I live it through reading about all of you wonderful people that have been able to do it. I have everything in pots in the small little area that I can get out in the sunshine. I don't really succeed with everything that I plant. We presently have our place up for sale but with the Lull we are having in sales of homes, it will probably be a long time. When it DOES sell, I hope to get a place with a real yard so I can at least get my hands back into the soil. In the meantime, I am just goiing to come on here and live my dream through you. Hugs to you all......Sheila
