A couple of icy pictures

This is our backyard. The icicles hung from everything!

Heres a view from my front porch. Most of that tree is now on the ground from the weight of the ice. As is most of the neighborhood trees. I had taken more pictures, but I don't know what happened to them. I think some little fingers got a hold of my camera.

Harvest Day Picture

I promised a while back that I would post a picture of us all dressed up for our Harvest day at church. And finally here it is. My camera is on the fritz so it's not the clearest image but oh well.

The bonnet, dress, and apron are ones I made, as is the dress my middle daughter is wearing. I may try to get a better picture of the bonnet as I worked really hard on it and was so proud of myself. Thanks for stopping by.

Getting caught up and some pictures

I've been diligently working on getting caught up on my housework. I blame Deanna (handsnhearts) for my motivation to get started.  I was able to take my kids to spend the day with their grandparents and get to work yesterday. I went through each room  and worked top to bottom. I finally got around to unpacking the rest of the girl's room and hanging pictures. I dusted, polished, scrubbed, and vacuumed every room, all but my bedroom and bath, my sewing room, and the kitchen. But I scrub the kitchen every day. I'm also trying to simplify, but the survivalist in me seems to not be able to let go of anything, especially clothes, but how many stuffed animals does one need to survive. lol. I definately got rid of a lot of toys and will be going in for more before we have a yard sale. So here's a few pictures. For some reason, they didn't turn out as good as I thought.

Here is a picture of my girl's room, their beds. I don't love the princess comforter, but I couldn't pass it up at a garage sale when she needed a comforter, we didn't have one. I'm in the process of gathering fabric to make her a quilt. The headboard and footboard and rails in the picture were free, we just painted them and they turned out great. We have another one very similar to it for my 2 year old, another freebie. Right now my 2 year old sleeps in the pack n play. The little valances on the windows are dish towels I bought at the dollar tree, not too bad. I also made a bedskirt  out of them for my daughter's toddler bed she used to sleep in.

And here's a picture of our family room. From this view you see our new couch and loveseat and secondhand recliner. The door to the right is in to the girls room and the other door is a coat closet.

This picture is in the family room still, taken from the girl's door. Past the banisters is our office/den.

And here is the office/den. This is also where we've been doing some our homeschooling. I'm looking for a medium sized table and chairs to set up in there so they can do most of their work there. Don't ya love the cast iron fireplace? That's one of my favorit things about this house.

Another view of the office/den. Our bookshelves, puzzles, activities, etc. We also just got a keyboard from my parent's house where we're all trying to learn how to play.

And the last picture I have for now is of my dining room. My wonderful hubby just bought me that beautiful new table when we moved in. I just love it!

Well, I hope you all enjoyed a peek into my house. Hopefully I'll be able to post some more pictures of the rest of the house as I get all done.

My Little Blessings

I guess since I'm posting pictures, I'll share pictures of my children.

This is my little man, he is 6 1/2. He was getting Terrific Kid award at school.

Here's my little princess, she'll be 5 in May.

And last, but not least, my little ballerina. She'll be 2 next month.

I guess I'll share a photo of myself. I know sometimes it's nice to put the face with the name, so here it is...

I've changed a little since this photo as this is a couple of years old. My hair is much longer than it is there. Although I did like my hair that way, I've decided to grow it out.
