Monday MusingsI love this time of year, it's not bitter cold, but there's just enough of a nip in the air to warm up in your long jammies and wool socks and wrap a big afghan around your shoulders. The cat is enjoying the warmth here with me as I type. I'm fighting turning the heat on just yet, but if it gets below 65 in the house, you bet I will flick it on. The kids are all snug in their warm jammies and socks and wrapped in their blankets sound asleep, as is my beloved, as I sit here typing. Today turned out to be quite productive...for once, and I'm so thankful it was. So many things were falling behind and we were all getting a little tired of it. And even though I was fighting it, I knew I was the only one who could dig us out of this mess. Our weekend was pretty calm. In fact I really don't remember much of it. I do remember a nap on Saturday and church on Sunday, but the rest of the time was just spent hanging out, oh and a trip to the store Saturday. The girls are suffering with a bad cough still and I've found that Delsym works very well for just such a problem. However, I'm looking to trying some more natural medicinal remedies for our family, but want to study up on the different herbs and their healing properties before I try to give it to my family. I've got a few books on herbs and will be checking at the library for other resources. School is coming along, albeit, not as scheduled and organized as I'd like it, but still it is getting done and we are enjoying it. I've accepted that my need for organization and scheduling will not come all at once but we will continue to work on it little by little. I am settling in to do some sewing. I spent part of my day today straightening my sewing area and making my sewing list. The list for this week includes....3 more cloth diapers for the youngest...finish bloomers for middle daughter.....I need to put something together to send my MIL for her birthday. It's not until the middle of November, but they live overseas and it will take at least 3 weeks to get to them.....I would like to get at least half of the squares cut for the quilt square swap.....and honestly that's probably all I will get done. I figure as the days get cooler, the more time I'll have to spend sewing. Today we got our school done, we finally (yes, I finally) cleaned the fish tank. Oh my it was just awful. I can't believe I waited so long! We did some laundry, some straightening, some fall decorating, and kept the kitchen halfway cleaned up. Come dinner time, I realized I hadn't planned anything, and for about 1 minute I panicked and then I went to my ice box and pantry and decided I would make some pantry soup. I had some leftover chicken from a roasted chicken the other day. We had some vegetables, and we had some noodles, so I put it all in a pot and cooked it with some water and chicken bouillon and everyone ate it up, and there's enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Boy that's another thing I love about fall..soup. Soup is one of the easiest things in the world to make and you can make it out of just about anything. Tomorrow promises to be a busy one with schooling, laundry, and everyday life. We go over to my moms every Tuesday to help her clean for a couple hours. Then I have to go to a teacher's conference for my middle daughter, and then there's cub scouts. We'll all be going for that because oldest son will be getting several badges and he's so excited. I need to press his class A uniform so he'll look super spiffy (yes, I said spiffy) while he's up there. Well, it's late and my bed is calling. I pray your day is a blessed one and hopefully I'll be able to post more about my HMB soon. G'night, Sara { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 250 of 474 } { Next Page } |
