This Week's Going Ons

Well, for us it is the first week of summer...no more school, well public school anyways.  Our week will be busy, but nothing compared with what it has been. We had a wonderfully blessed Memorial Day, spent with family and friends. Our weather has been rainy and extremely humid, but nonetheless beautiful in it's own way.

Tomorrow my son is going to the dentist. He is having to have at least one of his baby teeth pulled. I am so nervous for him and would appreciate prayer for him on this matter. He's been to the dentist regularly, but never for anything like this. He has 2 permanent teeth growing in behind his baby teeth and his baby teeth aren't even remotely loose. I'm also praying this won't be a continuous problem. I'll update when I can.

Other than that this week, we will have 2 t-ball games, weather permitting. I will have my nieces quite a lot this week also, which is proving to be more trouble than it's worth some days.

The pennies are really having to squeak this week due to financial strains which are thankfully only temporary. But my survival instincts have already kicked in and we will be dining on a lot of beans and making something out of nothing type meals. I will be making bread for the week, something I have gotten out of the habit of lately. I'm praying my tomato plants will start producing soon which would help out so much this summer.

Something on my mind lately that I will likely be posting more in the future is stocking up on food and supplies. Something not easy to do when finances are strained. But I think I'm going to sit down with dh this week and see what kind of adjustments we can make in our budget so that we can start making baby steps towards this goal. My husband's job isn't as stable as we'd like it to be so stocking up would be something that could come in quite handy if something does happen. Well, it's late, and I'm past my bedtime. I hope you all had a blessed Memorial Day. Blessings.

I pray the dentist visit goes well for your son this morning. Our middle daughter had to go in for that same thing once. Her adult teeth were there yet those baby teeth seemed to be set in cement! She did great, and it was a one time deal for her.
With the stocking up, the LDS folks have a great list for stocking up using $5 a week. There are some other resources out there as well. Back with the Y2k stuff, alot of those sorts of lists went around. I had some listed on my blog...I'll try to find them again.
Good luck with the budgeting and pantry planning!
