Wet Wednesday and T-ball season

This week has been very gloomy and rainy. I'm not really complaining because I know that the rain is good. Later, we'll be praying for it when the summer hits. It's a quiet day here and I haven't gotten anything done. I'm going to try and motivate myself to get busy. I haven't gotten any packing done, and we've decided to put off having a yard sale. Someone is already buying our sofa and chaise lounge, and that was the main thing I really had to get rid of. We have about 16 days until we move and I hate that I can't get the energy to get anything done. So I guess I'm going to have to force myself into this. I know, I'll make me a list...let's see...I need to make some more laundry detergent and softener...I need to wash at least 2-3 loads of laundry...I need to unload and reload the dishwasher...I need to finish making my MIL's apron for Mother's day(she lives in Albania, and it takes 3 weeks to get there)...I also need to make my menu and shopping list for next week...and get my bills ready to pay...I need to water my plants and go ahead and transplant my tomatoes...I guess that will be all for me today...oh, and I need to make my tortillas for tomorrow's dinner and go ahead and get the chicken grilled up for tomorrow.

Something I haven't mentioned on here is that my husband and I coach t-ball. Our son is in t-ball and we wanted to be involved. Our first practice is supposed to be tomorrow and I'm not really looking forward to it, but I know my dh is, so I keep a happy face about it. Last year, I let the kids and parents run over me a bit and I'm bound and determined to not let it happen this year. My son is expected to do what I say, and this year, I expect the other children to do so too. The other problem we had was that almost all of the parents were super competitive, which is unreal to me, as we are dealing with 5 and 6 year olds. My husband and I are honestly there for the fun. If we win, it's always nice, but we're certainly not going to condemn any child for anything less. But so many parents do not  think that way. I'm praying that this will be a good season with no problems. Well, better run. Blessings.

Sport

{ 11:31, Wednesday, March 28, 2007 } { Posted by lizbet }
My two older children play sport. We try to teach them to enjoy the game, yes go out to win, but above all enjoy. We also try to get them to understand the other teams feelings depending on who wins, that is, if you win don't rub their noses in it and if they win tell them how well they played. I find it a great surprise that many parents encourage their children only to think of themselves. If the team doesn't win they have to find an individual to blame, mostly those who give up their free time to help these children.
I hope this year is better for you and you enjoy yourself.
I'll jump off my soapbox for now.

Liz
