My DD is on sprng break this week and she took the Red Cross Babysitting course. I can't believe it, she now has a certified card that she has been trained to babysit...though I know she's wonderful with kids, I can't even bring myself to leave her with her own brothers for more then ten minutes!! She is still sorta young 11, but she is prett mature when she wants to be as well!
My DS age 6 had found some home videos and we watched them this week....my dd was about the same age as my youngest son Luke in the video...I just don't know where those 10 years have gone! My dh made a comment about what we'd be doing in 18 years when all are kids are grown, I had to laugh...I said watching grandkids! he's like you're right, I am sure we'll have a few by then! I never thought I would see the day when I had 4 children let alone talk about grandkids, lol! Oh but we sure are blessed!
children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. ~Psalms 127:3

I started babysitting at age 11- I was the oldest of 6 kids, maybe you get to be more responsible that way :) I know what you mean- somewhere along the line my boys went from being little ones that I pretended were strong to real life actual strong young men that can lift heavy stuff LOL I look forward to when they are grown, to see what they do with their lives. And to see what we'll do with ours!!
Love,
Leah

My oldest will soon be able to babysit as well... And likewise, given his track record with the sibs, I don't know how I'll feel about it!
It's so weird to think of him, or any of them, growing up and leaving home. Aren't I supposed to be a kid still? Where did this "grownup" stuff come from?? :~)

I have been wanting my daughter,13, to take the babysitting course. Although she has been watching her little sisters, 6 & 8, for a couple of years now, it is good to know they have been trained well. She did say one of her friends would take the class with her. Our boy is 18, a high school senior is a Navy Diver in Delayed Entry Program, will be leaving June 8th! The time flies with little ones!
